I'm on the CyanogenMod 10.2 for more than a week now... First ROM I ever flashed, but I kinda knew what I was getting into (researched and read a lot of user experiences...), and was prepared to take a risk because my phone already went trough A LOT... (like faling down the toilet and stuff...
Anyway, I am pleased so far. There are a few issues that are anoying, but not really that serious. Some are already mentioned, but the ones I notice the most are:
- Stopping, and sometimes even closing, the media player when notifications (in my case mostly SMS pop-ups) arrive
- A delay when connecting to the wireless and sometimes mobile networks (I'm not sure for this one, cause It did happen a dozen of times before, even on stock). Otherwise they work fine, but the delay can really be frustrating when you need it quickly. I read somwhere around here that thats the problem with many custom roms, don't know if that's true...
- Battery life is pretty much OK, I think (it's always hard for me to compare this), but I obviously have some difficulties with the charging. As far as I've noticed, the battery charges fine when the phone is on, but when the phone is turned off and charging, it takes him forever to fully charge. Actualy, since I've done this just twice so far, I've never even reached 100% when charging the turned-off phone. The most was 95%, the other night, when it was charging around 10 hours, maybe even more.
Then again, I do have to mention that I do not use the original Samsung battery, but some cheap Hinorx crap (well, let's not call it that, because it does hold some, and it serves it's short termed purpose). But with the stock ROM, it always charged fully...
All in all, I'm pleasd with it, like I said. The Mod does take some things away from you, but surely adds more than enough to compensate you for your loss.
It's just the matter what you prefer, what you plan to use, and what you consider important.
Tip of the hat to Maclaw and all the guys that make it possible.
