I found the rom to be very responsive. The tablet ui was clearly marked experimental, and it is borked, but the ROM is not even at a 1.0 release. For a .8 beta I think it's off to a good start.

Trick to Tablet UI.....click on the Tablet UI and when it goes to the borked screen.....click on it again. .8 is running great!

Ok, I got a test version together faster than I thought. I haven't gotten a chance to really test it out, but it does flash, boot, and wifi works. That's as far as I've gotten with testing so far. If anybody wants to take it for a spin (and hopefully report what works and what doesn't), you can download it here - http://tinyw.in/sTCw.

Don't forget the 4.3 gapps too - http://tinyw.in/UVAP

Initial boot takes 3/4 minutes....have a little patience.
Sets up fine. Fast WiFi setup. GPS works fine.
Flash works with Boat Browser.
Youtube, HBOGo, Xfinity Player work just fine.

What's wonky:
Can't install full theme. But can install various parts from Theme Mixer.(this seems to apply to older themes. Newer themes will apply).
When I choose a theme and click apply, the screen rotates 180°. After theme applies, screen switches back to portrait.
Unable to get otg to work even using Stickmount.
Very smooth and fast. Great 4.3 build for this old device.
Thanks.

Well, I haven't gotten a chance to flash it yet, but you can try a 4.3.1 version from here - http://goo.im/devs/wizard0f0s/ChaOS/encore

Again, be sure you make a backup first. I can't even confirm it'll flash properly yet. Also, you'll want to get the most recent gapps from http://goo.im/devs/ChameleonOS/gapps

will this ROM have nightly builds too?

Yep, once we're certain we have a stable build. That's looking pretty good so far. Have to ensure 4.3.1 is working properly now.

I flashed the 4.3.1 build and steven676's test kernel on top.

It runs pretty nicely. SU did not work, but flashing SuperSu fixed that for me

ChameleonOS is definitely the best rom for the Nook by far. Glad I came across it. I had CM10 on it but it was running to slow and lagging a lot. Now it's like it was meant to be. Does anyone know if there is a version of Chameleon to put on a Galaxy SIII or Nexus7?

Hi,
I'm coming from CM7 and CWM 3.2.0.1 . Do I need to flush newer CWM or this one will do?

This might be the best ROM I used for 4.2.2 for this device.

Just noticed that since 6/18, no more nightlies come out. is it stopped ?

Nope, but we only release nightlies if something has changed. That way everybody isn't wasting time on pointless flashes. As we get more devs going we'll have more changes too.
