For dimming I use ScreenDim Pro from the Amazon App Store.
I also have an update on the Kindle Fire 2. Internally, it is completely identical except for 1 gigabyte of RAM and the missing ambient light sensor. The CPU and graphics hardware components looke like they are still exactly the same as the original Kindle Fire. However, while the CPU is also still the same, it is now clocked at 1.2 GHz instead of 1.0 GHz.
Ok, so it's no better than the original I have now. If they feel fuzzy about 1.2 GHz for daily use does that mean we could go 1.4 safely?
