Just read in Official Samsung Hong Kong facebook page, they said Galaxy Note ICS update will roll out in May, 2 months to go:(

as usual, Europe should get it the same time if not earlier (my guess)

translate:

"Samsung Mobile Hong Kong
Galaxy Note has been well received since the day it launched and now the most anticipating ICS update will be arrived in May!"

p.s it's quite funny to read Samsung Mobile Hong Kong facebook page, every single comment in their post are all rage complaint. Recently the hottest complaint is Galaxy S2 ICS update, many users reporting system freeze, battery drain and stuffs.
let's hope our Galaxy Note update will be better :/ keep our fingercrossed

It's understandable given all the ICS performance and interface hype. It was rushed out almost half a year ago and we're still waiting? And face it, GB on the Note is not "just fine" , hell even opening my Contacts takes 2 seconds, with the pictures stil not loaded, making my old HD2 feel like a speed deamon. And there are plenty other lags.

I can't agree with you. ICS must be in Q1, as samsung promised. If they don't have time to do it in the first quarter they are required to employ 200-300 additional personnel to accelerate the work.

no - but take a look at xda developers . they do better job alone ( or with small help) than most of stock releases ...

Yes, but remember that developers here don't have to go thru the same verification processes that the manufacturers must with these things. The majority of the time it takes to get these updates uptake the door is the long verification processes in every country the device is sold in, not the actual development

I just want a new leak with a working 1.4Ghz kernel and the new S-Note / S-suite. Obviously it has been built... how is it this is the one and only ROM samsung has managed to keep from leaking?

OK, I agree that a promise is a promise and must be kept. But no one has said that ICS update on Note has been cancelled. It has just been delayed and will come of certain.

I still don't understand why buy a Note on the promise that it would have ICS. If people could see and taste ICS they could have bought Galaxy Nexus in the first place. Everything has its trade offs :)

I don't like Samsung and will never buy another one. They just lying.

Whiners...

Wow ... so many whiners in here...
Why do you keep complaining about Samsung not keeping their promises and keep buying from them?
It reminds me of the good ol' HTC HD2's days... when HTC said it would no longer port Windows Phone 7 to that device... Everybody kept whining.. even though their device worked perfectly with the firmware provided (and later with android). And probably many upgraded to another HTC device!
ICS will come when it's ready.. I don't think Samsung likes not to keep the promised date of release.
I'd rather wait for the firmware to be complete and working good (maybe listening to their customers' advices on how to improve TouchWiz... anybody said "Lower-DPI-friendly??? :p)

A newer leak would be nice, but stop being kids about this !!

Don't want to sound like a like a lesson giver, but moral of the story is : never buy a product based on what it may do in the future, buy it based on what it can do as it is when you buy it...Although personaly I think ICS will eventually come out one day on our beloved device, and I'm not in the hurry.

Oh, come on, this is a training school for girls who want to act victims in horror films not some online mobile phone forum so let them have their moments.
I think we should encourage them... For all those spoiled mummy's boys/girls who are whining because Santa didn't bring them gold plated bike they wanted...

I would like to take a moment to encourage you two to keep your opinions to yourself. There is a difference between disagreeing with someone and insulting them. Your posts are childish and do not contribute to this thread in any way.

The fact that we can flash custom ICS is NOT a solution in my book, as every kernel so far besides DAFUQ has been based on i9220 leaks, and has the risk of damaging the emmc before and after flashing.

We've gone from first quarter to early second quarter, to mid-to-late second quarter. At least we have official CM9 support now.

The only real thing that I would accept from Samsung is to start releasing source, going down the Sony route. If they released source for their updates, that would provide some really excellent development for our phones, and would extend their lifespan quite a bit.

I really wasn't bothered by all of this until it started to become really clear that they were just wasting as much of the 18-month cycle as possible and/or de- prioritizing N7000 development in favor of their S3 or whatever.

We will vote with our money.
