Default Ubuntu and G2

Hey guys
I just installed ubuntu on my desktop alongside W7 and installed it on my phone also. The ubuntu site said one can sync everything and even run applications from the phone with ubuntu..but I don't know what "docking the phone to the monitor/desktop" does.can't I just plug it in via USB abd do it
Or do I need to buy the dock which I don't even know where and how to get
*thanks in advance

It's better for you tu just use the usb cable, I don't think you really need a dock... but as far as I know,it has not been released yet and it will work only on 2+ cores
