No, you won't get any updates. Root just means you (apps) have access to system files while the phone is running. Titanium Backup, for example, needs root to read data from every app. The ROM can run fine without root because it essentially runs as root anyway (it IS the system).

Tried getting this to run. Had too many issues with things not working. Too bad too because it seemed like a really nice ROM. I'm just going to avoid cross carrier ROMs. I have tried several non-Sprint specific ROMs and they just cause more headaches then they are worth. Going to restore my nandroid and leave it at that.
Since Samsung released the kernel source for the Sprint S4 on kitkat, shouldn't it be easier to get this up and running.
Perhaps you've seen it already, but it looks like our wish came true!

I will start adding features people ask for after the ROM is STABLE. I don't want a lot of touchwiz crap messing this up,
But, I will try to bring over SBeam and Airview . The reason I chose those is stock android accepts these features and I don't see
them as "touchwiz" property.

Think I fixed 4G ( without apn restore )
made 3G more stable ( no more having to do Airplane mode and having it say Empty in status and should have stronger 3G service)

July-7-1416Real quick status update. I almost have network setting down and stabilized. The phone now is starting to create object of CDMA. It just dies midway through, but I think I know why . I'm also working on a 4.3 build that should be a little easier to get everything working , the only thing is Google and Samsung took out almost all touchwiz in the framework. So the 4.3 may never see any of the Samsung goodies . I'm hoping that I'll have the current build up and ready by the end of the day, but no promises. Depends on my daughter and nap time . just wanted to let you all know what's going on .
