If I remember correctly and if sony didn't change something, after updating with PC companion GB->ICS, your old data is left over, it wasn't wiped, so it would be nice to do repair of software.

yes i flashed back to 0.62 nordic, relock bootloader and lastly, update to ICS using pc companion

Oh right that wont work for me

I flashed my arc S Lt18i and then repaired the phone by PC Companion. Can anybody tell me where on my computer the downloaded software would be?

Because my bootloader was unlocked via setool which you cant relock as far as i know. I can flash any gb rom with wotan. Ics is a no no. Flashtool, seus and pc companion doesnt work for me. At all.

i see. well i already emailed wotanserver regarding the error. I hope they fix it ASAP so you can enjoy ICS on your arc S

Flashed here in UK and no problems with anything. A lot better and smoother now. You should also consider rooting afterwards

I'm not considering... it's a must for me to be rooted - but how?

I'm on .62 which was rooted by downgrading to .42, rooted with with the zergrush exploit and upgraded to .62 again.
Will I still be rooted after upgrading to ICS via PC Companion?

Actually ICS *can* be rooted. Quite easily. Search and you shall find.
