Now with push I would lose 5-10% or so overnight, which in the grand scheme of things isn't a lot to lose, but is relatively significant. I don't need push as I don't need to know when my mate has flossed his teeth on facebook straight away and I don't need to read badly worded emails trying to sell me viagra instantly either.
I don't use Google Now as that just tells me stuff I already know or can find out at the press of a button. Why do I need to know how far away from home I am at all times I already know otherwise how would I have gotten to where I am in the first place?
Maybe i mis-read a post somewhere, but i thought you had said earlier that leaving those items on would drain the battery. Loosing 5-10% overnight to me isn't what i would call a drain, but normal usage. so maybe we're arguing semantics now.
I just leave all that stuff on since I usually charge it while I sleep and the battery is usually around 80% or so by the end of the day before i charge it. Just guessing at the actual number since i dont usually look at the battery details and just check the status bar icon. So for me if all those items result in a 5 or 10% drop, that seems pretty ok to me. Although considering i only seem to lose about 20% through the whole day, i think for me at least they are not draining the batter more then 5%. maybe you get more notifications then i do though and it's waking the device more often. I also don't get any notifications for spam email since i have it set to only notify for messages in the priority inbox.

It hadn't been on the charger for about 48 hours, and I had 34% remaining with >7 hours of screen on time. It's amazing to me, but I'm old and remember when a 4AH battery weighed about 8 pounds.
Still can't figure out why mediaserver uses so much considering how little I use it for music or pictures. Anyone know if it is because of key click and notification sounds?
That does sound pretty damn impressive. I'm tempted to try some of the custom rom's out there, but so far it's working so well I just haven't bothered to mess around with it. Although at some point I'll at least root it so i can run backups.
