I odin the rom, kernel and the recovery without any error message. Everything says pass at the end but I keep getting google service framework, android process acore and android phone force close and cannot pass through the android guy screen. It won't let me setup. I cannot receive any calls but I could get voicemails and could dial to voicemail only. Can someone help?

I was on ICS rom before but there were many apps that was not responding so I decided to go back to stock. I odin T989UVKID_HOME_SGH-T989user_CL594724_REV00.tar and then it rebooted and since then I have been getting the force close warning. I continued to odin the kernel (SGH-T989-Stock-UVKID.tar) and then recovery (SGH-T989-Stock-Recovery.tar). Still no go, rebooting has no problem too, it says verified package and no error message whatsoever.

Please help.

What ICS ROM were you on? I'm wanting to go back to GB myself, but I just want to get some info first to see what ROMs give any issues.

i'm going back to stock GB as well.

too many of these so called "small" bugs.

i was on darksidw beta 4.

these dev made ics roms have lots of small bugs. for example, the lock screen pattern would shift to the right and 2 rows of the dots are off the screen and i can't unlock my phone and i'd have to restart the phone to get the dots to appear correctly.

the alarm clock volume is very low despite it being set to the max volume in the alarm setting.

sometimes lock screen would be default darkside lock screen, and sometimes it would pop up my pattern unlock lockscreen.

i use apex launcher and sometimes the phone would render darkside homescreen and sometimes apex homescreen.

gps is broken.

a lot of these "small" bugs are annoying and i'm going back to stock.

I had the lockscreen issue on GB aswell. It's not an ICS bug. And GPS works fine for me. Alarm is quite loud over here.

I haven't had lock screen issue on stock gb. I set the alarm sound level in timer to loudest in dark side but its really quiet when it rings. And I use the timer in clocks, not the actual set time alarm.

maybe its because i'm on Telus t989d, but these ics ROM built on att and tmo base have loss of bugs for me.

Anyway, thanks a lot op. Directions worked great. Had boot looping and wiping cache/factory reset wipe worked.

I am thinking i'm ready to die... So i followed this exactly and even tried as someone said by flashin CWM through odin..

Well i have the force close on set up wizard so it doesn't go any further i can't use CWM because as soon as i move down or up it reboots.. so i can't flash zip to put a rom on there real quick.. i'm totally stuck o.o;; what do I do? I came from Infamous ROM which had so many problems..but i'm now wishing i just kept it..

(OMG guys anyone else having that problem just make sure you wipe your cache and everything, I never use to wipe anything and obviously that can cause some major conflicts. I feel dumb -.- thanks guys! )

Will there be a tutorial on reverting to stock ICS that was released OTA recently for T-Mo users? I had rooted by then, but I only did it to get ICS and then they sent it OTA and I never got it. I'd like to see what that was like. A lot of devs just have way too many issues in their ICS roms.

The ICS OTA isn't out yet. But I'll update it once it's out.

I restored to stock and now I'm getting androidprocesscore force closes and google services framework force closes immediately. I can't even go through the setup process. Please help. I'm just trying to go to stock to start over and flash a new rom.

you dont need to reflash cwm just reboot into stock recovery and factory reset and wipe cache. Installing cwm is pointless if you want to be completely stock.

I wanted to bring my phone back to stock and just root it without any roms. I followed the guide and got the stock setup installed. Problem I am having is trying to go into cwm so I can wipe everything and install superuser. I hold vol up and down, hit the power button and it doesn't do anything. Samsung logo comes up and then goes black, phone vibrates ever 2 seconds and thats it. If i let go of the buttons it just boots up. I just want the latest up to date stock software installed with root, no roms or anything else.

THIS IS FOR SGH-T989 (T-MOBILE) ONLY!

    This will restore to T-Mobile 2.3.6 ULKL1.

This guide is for those who screwed up a flash, need to return their phone, are selling their phone, or just want that stock new phone feeling again.

    Prerequisites:
    1) ODIN
    2) USB Drivers

If you need your data backed up first, backup personal data with Kies and Application Data with Titanium Backup.

    Steps:
    1) Download THIS file and extract it. (Password is 'sampro.pl') --Source HERE.
    2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Re-insert the battery after a few seconds.
    3) Plug the USB cable into your computer, without plugging it into your phone.
    4) Hold VOL UP + VOL DOWN while plugging in the USB cable to your phone. Stop holding with 'Warning' appears.
    5) Press Volume UP and start ODIN (Run as Admin on Vista and 7, just to be safe)
    6) Click PDA and locate the MD5 file extracted earlier.
    7) Press 'Start' and be patient. It will take a few minutes because it is a large file.
    8) Unplug your phone after it has completed and rebooted twice.

Now everything is 100% stock! Kernel, System, Bootloader, and Modem are stock.

If you're going to sell the phone, or just return it, I advise you to do the following:
    1) Go to Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset
    2) Check Format USB Storage
    3) Press 'Reset Phone'
    4) Press 'Erase Everything'
This will erase EVERYTHING on your phone including your SD Card (External + Internal)

If you happen to have a bootloop, perform the following:
    1) Boot into recovery (Power on phone while holding VOL UP and VOL DOWN)
    2) Wipe Data, Cache, and Dalvik
    3) Reboot System

If this helped you save your phone, please press 'Thanks'
And if you want to, DONATE (You aren't required to, it's just HIGHLY appreciated.)
