Stutter still there with the change. Thanks for the try any way.:)

I am sure that the stuttering caused by kernels not the apps.

For battery life i have found :
-using other launcher.
-disabling auto rotate.
-using 2g.
-In phone settings turn off enforce proximity sensor.
-turning off background data.
-manually kill the apps by the long pressing the home button.

All this prolong battery life by 40% more.

The audio quality of the Cm7.2 was really good.
Could we use those libs for the next MIUI Version.:)

Btw you don't sleep, do you?;)

That is what i was going to say. Kpu is working with miui, and kpe modem too, but results were quite worse for mi than with KPQ. the combination of KPQ VurrutV2 and KPE is still the best for me with no doubt if we talk about battery life-performance results...

The other thing is that in battery use, sensors are all the time running. Proximity sensor, acelerometer, and I dont use them in any game (i dont play) or app which drains big part of the battery. This may be studied.... very good advices gm thank you.

Edit: what an idiot!! Acelerometer is because auto rotation!! :S

Our ROM right now is quite amazing except for the known bugs which I'm sure the devs will be able to fix. The stutter has not been fixed so false alarm, sad. :(

Thanks to gm for the battery tips - adding to FAQ.

Trying zeam launcher to test battery drain.

Where is phone options/enforce proximity sensor?

Turning off background data won't make the phone not recieve whatsapps (for example)?

I've tried "wireless tethering", "open garden" and "barnacle". The tethering was activated, I thought it worked.
But when I tried to tether for another phone, that phone can't detect the hotspot from my I9003.
And the app "Wifi Tether" uploaded by GM will only give a FC.
As GM mentioned that some members said it works with a market app, I want to make sure if those members thought it works just because they saw the tethering was activated.
I'm on vurret kernel v3, if you have the same problem on other kernels, please report here and it may still be a bug to fix:(

Another players same. Mp3 is laggy at 22 seconds and at 45 seconds. Only twice in all songs. Buffering problems maybe?

my macbook detects it as ad-hoc network and says- no internet connection because IP address cannot be retrieved.

its an already known issue that some apps get fc. Should we fix the app for miui or it happens because of miui?

    @gm007

I have been monitoring your progress since few days. I would like to give you some advice.

MIUI is based on AOSP and it is very much similar to CM7. Infact many of the MIUI ROM are based on CM7 and they share the same kernel for obvious reasons.

Follow these guidelines for better ROM:

    1. Libraries
Never use libraries from the Stock rom except for Proprietary stuff. Samsung is best at screwing up things and they might add some custom functionality which might break things on AOSP roms. So it is always better to avoid using libraries from the Stock roms.
On the other hand, you could use Proprietary libraries from latest stock rom releases. The list of all such libraries could be found HERE. It would be best if you keep updating these files in the rom whenever any new stock rom is released.
Also avoid using libraries from other phones since they won't be alike and they might contain customizations specific to that phone. I have noticed a lot of libraries which are not at all useful for example, you have included OMX Core from aries platform which obviously doesn't work.

    2. Debugging with Logs

If you are having any issue that you need to fix and if you have the relavent logcat message, you could check the name of the module that gives the error. You could use the command 'grep -r "<string>" .' to search for that string so that you will get an idea about which library is responsible for that error message.

    3. Check for Dependencies

Libraries don't magically load themselves. You need to load them manually which are often linked to other libraries. To load or use a specific library you need to find for additional dependencies so that they are all loaded. You could do a dependancy search by using "strings" command. For example to find the dependencies of libaudio.so you need to run `strings libaudio.so | grep ".so"`. This will show all the interlinked modules.

    4. Functional CM7 is a key to MIUI

Since CM7 is opensource and MIUI is based on CM7, if you manage to fix issues on CM7, you could fix the issue on MIUI very easily. The best idea would be to sync the CM7 tree and fix issues that you are having. For example to fix the video recording, download the code, fix the issue and then check for libraries that have been updated or change. You could copy over those libraries to MIUI to fix the issue. Juggling with the libraries will do nothing other than bringing in more and more problems.

I could have helped you with CM7, but rite now I don't have a device and I don't want to bother my friend who has bought the device recently only. And as far as the developers are concerned, everyone is too busy with their life.

Good luck with your port. I appreciate your hardwork. Do let me know if you need any technical help.

    :)
