Surface 2 Gamut/Color Accuracy
To my knowledge, the new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 both use the updated 1080p display.
Microsoft has stated that the new displays offer 46% greater color accuracy. The previous tablets have had a color accuracy of about 60% to 69% of the sRGB spectrum, at least according to the various reviews that I've read up on. Going by what Microsoft's claims, the new displays should cover nearly the entire sRGB spectrum. (if not, even more than it)
For those who've tried the new tablets out, I'm rather curious... How does the display actually match up to it's new specs?
I understand that the current panels on the RT and the Pro have some difficulty rendering deeper and more vibrant colors - the colors seem to be more subdued in comparison to the retina display panels featured on the iPad 3/4, (or perhaps even the new Nexus 7).
As the tablets are not out (yet), I understand that only rough visual comparisons can be made, so there's some subjectivity in that area... but a rough idea would be nice. (I'm currently using the RT, for the record)
