Ok, ADB hates me, I can't get it to work, so I can't unlock the phone. What issues could I possibly encounter? I want this ROM asap, and I remind you that I flashed JVK without unlocking and I didn't get any issues with the network. I also need it only in Orange RO, so
To risk or not to risk?

There is apparently another issue with XWJVB. Both wireless and 3g internet become ver slow sometimes. Wireless almost gets stuck compeltely. Wheb I re-start the phone, performaance improves. By the way, connnectivity with wireless router is not a problem. It is just that internet access gets stuck. Any ideas what to do?

Try running a daily cache cleaner from the market

I have been trying for several weeks now to upgrade to 2.3.3 XWJVB, but when the flashing of the firmware completes and the phone restarts, i am asked to type a password. I am not quite sure what to enter and i hope somebody can help me to successfully install 2.3.3 XWJVB.

Type wrong password several times.
The phone will say it's wrong and it will format your sdcard.

So take a backup of it/them first.

You can try the 'Call delay patch' that's available on the Market. Not sure if it works though.

Can someone tell me if their front facing camera sends video to video apps at 90 degrees, i.e. on its side??

I have Tango, Qik and Fring. If you run the Fring video test call the camera played back from Fring is on its side. A video call with Tango to another user shows FFC is on its side too. I'm running JVK gingerbread - does this occur on JVB ??

Is this a bug and is it fixed in JVB as I would upgrade from JVK if it was fixed...?

Thanks,

2.3.3 JVB

i was using 'custom' modem file from jv1 and i had few seconds delay..
it stoped when i flashed back modem that came with fw...
that is file PHONE_XXJVK.tar.md5 from [Ramad]'s package...

1) extract out of ramads package only modem file
2) put phone into download mode
3) add it to Odin so it will look like this
(make sure you add correct file from correct path)

4) connect phone & flash

//edit: nah it is still there ;) once it is once it is nor ;)

Hi folks,

I'v got the following question;

Currently I'm on MIUI RC6b, on Zach's 'Antlion' kernel, and i want to flash to JVB + bootloaders.

Can i do this directly, as described in the first post?

And, should i tick 'update bootloaders' in ODIN 1.7 (I don't see a bootloader file in the package, just the PDA, PHONE and CSC)?

Oh, and yes, I've used the search function, but i couldn't find an answer that fits my situation directly.

It should be fine to flash as described.
You should NOT tick update bootloaders, they will be flashed anyway since they are included in the PDA-file.

    How to flash:

    Note:
    Re-partition is not a must, use it only if you need to change partition sizes on the device, but in most cases you will not need to repartition at all.

    If you haven't flashed your device before or you find it easier to follow with the help of videos then please follow these detailed HQ videos and descriptions made to you by itskapil:
    Easy Install Guide for noobs, and everyone! thanks to itskapil for his good work and for sharing these videos.

    No pit and no re-partition:
    * Start Odin without connecting the device.
    * Load the files that you want to flash:

    PDA = PDA
    PHONE = PHONE
    CSC = CSC

    * Put the phone on Download Mode and connect the device.
    * Wait for Odin to detect the device and hit Start

    With pit and re-partition:
    * Start Odin without connecting the device.

    PHONE = PHONE
    CSC = CSC

    * Put the phone on Download Mode and connect the device.
    * Wait for Odin to detect the device and hit Start

    CWM3 update.zip for CRT screen-off animation and battery percentage icon

    Here is a CWM3 update.zip for CRT screen-off animation and battery percentage icon for JVK. Based on $omator's work here, which in turn is based on others work, etc. Also based on Mothatt's work here. Full credit to the planet.

    The update requires CF-Root v2.4 for JVK.

    There are various files:

    update-jvk-framework-original.zip Restore original JVK framework-res
    update-jvk-framework-screenoff.zip Add screen off animation framework-res
    update-jvk-framework-screenoff-batt.zip Add screen off animation + battery percentage icon framework-res

    update-jvk-ock-v2-original.zip Restore original files modified by ock v2 theme
    update-jvk-ock-v2-theme.zip Install ock v2 theme (see ock's thread)

    Instructions (CF-Root v2.4 and newer):
    - Go to Settings -> Display -> Animation and make sure it is set to "All animations"
    - Copy the attached update-jvk-xxx.zip to your device's SD card
    - Reboot into CWM: Applications -> CWM -> Reboot now
    - Wait until recovery is booted :)
    - Go to install zip from sdcard (NOT to be confused with "apply update from sdcard" !!!), and press home.
    - Go to choose zip from sdcard, and press home.
    - Find update-jvk-XXX.zip. Note that if you put the file on the external SD card instead of the internal one, you may have to navigate into the external_sd folder to find the file!
    - Press home to start the update, select yes - .... (and press home), wait a few seconds, device will reboot, and update is applied!

    Instructions (CF-Root v2.5 and newer, quicker):
    - Go to Settings -> Display -> Animation and make sure it is set to "All animations"
    - Copy the attached update-jvk-xxx.zip to your device's SD card
    - Go to CWM Manager: Applications -> CWM
    - Select "Flash update"
    - Find the file on your SD card, tap it, and click "Flash" button
    - Your device will boot into CWM, install the update, reboot into normal mode, and you are done!

    JVK ODEX ---> crt + % battery + extended power menu + animation(s) + lockscreen

    I RECOMEND FLASHING THOSE FILES ONLY ON RFS
    YOU CAN TRY ON EXT4 BUT YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY

    STILL YOU CAN EXTRACT THEM AND FLASH MANUALY ON EXT4

    How to install:
    1) Copy files to Internal SDCARD
    2) Follow the procedure from screenshots:

    or use CWM app from your appdrawer...Flash an uptate.zip from menu... pick modification and let it do the magic...

    get rid of LED always on when screen on

    EDIT 16 APRIL:

    New, clear and transparent method:
    Flash attached CWM3-compatible update. It replaces backlight driver with one from 2.3.2 firmware, which does not have the LED backlight "problem" :)

    If it does not work or you're not on cwm3, but rooted, you can manually replace stock 2.3.3 driver: system\lib\hw\lights.s5pc110.so with the one in attached zip file.

    **) always have restore notification file in case youve messed up something...
    *) best to do it with WinRAR - so make sure you got it installed...
    1) download stock_anim.rar
    2) unpack - it will have anim folder with bunch of files inside
    3) now download battery mod you like
    4) double-click on the file youve just downloaded to open with WinRAR
    5) at the window that oppens pick double-click on system and then on framework
    6) you will see three files - double-click on framework-res.apk
    7) this will open new WinRAR window (do not close first window!)
    8) double-click on res folder
    9) now just drag-and-drop the anim foder you unpacked at point 2) over the existing one
    10) click OK at windows that will prompt you
    11) close the WinRAR window that youve just updated with anim
    12) click YES on window that will prompt you about archive update
    13) congrats youve got stock anim at file - copy to sd and cwm flash it
