This is what happens for me when trying to select save backup to USB-OTG (Yes, I know there's no usb-otg in the phone but it's just the same outcome). It works fine without this theme in normal TWRP 2.6.1.0.

I can mount the USB-OTG and see it's content in File Manager in TWRP but can't backup to it. Most of the time the box doesn't check, sometimes it does but unchecks itself immediately. The other boxes check fine first time..

Thanks.. :)

Funny gif.
I tested a little and here is what I found: I use sticks for backups of my Nexus 7. My backup stick is formatted in fat. If I try with a ntfs stick, I can reproduce the behaviour where the checkbox is checked shortly and it immediately jumps back to internal storage.

TWRP behaves the same on stock theme for me.

So I would ask you to try with a fat formatted stick. If that's already the case, I'm somewhat at loss, as I don't have a one to test...

Well, seems like I've to integrate the ugly storage chooser somehow. At least for this device. Thanks for confirming the error.
Hey, I just noticed on this thread: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2396687 that TWRP are now allowing the curtain to be modified?? (along with some other excellent themes in that thread also :p) Will the curtain, etc be ported for this phone? Thanks

Nooooooooooooooo

Hey, I just noticed on this thread: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2396687 that TWRP are now allowing the curtain to be modified?? (along with some other excellent themes in that thread also :p) I tried flashing only the curtain but got inaccessible recovery. Will the curtain, etc be ported for this theme? Thanks

You just flashed a Nexus 4 recovery to your One?

Here is how it works:
The curtain is part of the recovery.img for your device. To change it, the recovery has to be unpacked and repacked with the new curtain. You can not use the repacked recoveries of other devices for your One.

But:
In the same post where you found the repacked images for N4, there is a link to the tool used to repack the images. As the tool is easy to use, you could try to repack the recovery for m7 yourself. The repacked recovery then needs to be flashed via fastboot. I only repack recoveries for devices I have, for other devices (such as N4 and ONE) I rely on users to contribute the repacked images. If you're going to step up for this let me know, I will provide the curtain.jpgs or the Inkscape SVG so you can create your own curtains.

Yep, I was on the xda app on my phone at the time and didn't read it was for the Nexus - my own fault.. I just erased cache and re-flashed 2.6.1.0 for the HTC One again and it's fine. Yes I will try it myself if you can provide the curtain.jpg images.. :)

Edit: just tried it with a test image and it worked fine. So if you want me to do it, PM me the 1080x1920 curtain.jpg image for each of the three themes and I'll test all 3 of them.. :good:

Edit 2: I'll make my own images using photoshop and upload them and see what you think...

Here's a Light one I've just done (scaled down, the real one is 1080x1920) - let me know if it's ok. I'm working tonight but will finish them tomorrow...
0Copbza.jpg
It looks grey on my computer screen for some reason - the shading is a lot lighter on my phone.

2.6.3.3 TWRP Curtain Recovery Images & Black/Dark Play Themes

**NOTE** - As of 16/11/13, I no longer have an HTC One device so cannot maintain these files anymore. If someone wants to continue them, feel free.. :)

TWRP 2.6.3.3 Recovery Images All thanks & credits of course to @z31s1g.

"Curtain Only" is a TWRP recovery image which has been unpacked, loading curtain changed and re-packed - nothing more. Flash the same way as normal, either by using fastboot or an app like Flashify. Then use a ui.zip in your /TWRP/theme/ folder.

Ok, I've tested everything on my device and it's all fine... Feel free to upload the links to your dev-host account for the first post of this thread.

If anyone wants to use the 'Curtain+Theme' together, you should remove any 'ui.zip' in /TWRP/theme/ folder. Or you can just download 'Curtain Only' and use it with any ui.zip theme you want.

  1. Delete the current ui.zip from your theme folder if you're going to flash a curtain+theme recovery (save bet would be to use the curtain only).
  2. flash the recovery image of your choice via fastboot
  3. done

Note that the fully integrated recoveries don't play nice with other ui.zips in theme folder...

I actually just renamed it like the previous ones (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img) and used Flash Image GUI app by Joeykrim and it worked perfectly. I have been using that app since I first got my Nexus S 4G and it's great for flashing kernel and recovery images...no fastboot necessary. It just recently was made compatible with our GSM variant One. Thanks for the response though.

    Whats to come

As most of you will already have noticed, TWRP 2.7 is close to be released.

The Holofied themes are already updated to be released the day 2.7 drops. The new recovery will also have included a few changes to the theming engine. So I went to explore the possibillities, and here's what I came up with...

    Holofied Theme Settings

One of the problems when making the current themes was to decide which colors to use for the highlighting.
Not everybody likes the classic holo blue or the newer whitish look. I also didn't want to maintain seperate themes to cover all colors of the rainbow.
So from 2.7 on, the Black, Dark and Light theme will give you nine highlight colors to choose from - in one skin that is.

Besides white, the colors are a mixture the darker shades of android colors (blue, green, orange, red), the google colors (dark blue, greener green, yellow) and AOKPink:

    colors.png

The theme settings will be accessible from the main menu. The selected color will be applied to the basic stuff, like the tabs, file and folder icons, checkboxes and radio buttons. Basically the way it has been since the release of the theme.

    18_59_39%2C45lower2.png
    19_00_57%2C91lower2.png
    19_02_52%2C95lower2.png

But for some users, that might not be colorful enough. So you can go ahead, and apply the highlight colors to other parts of the UI as well:

    19_05_00%2C95lower2.png
    19_06_37%2C46lower2.png
    19_07_34%2C88lower2.png

Of course these options also include the actionbar.

    19_09_12%2C66lower2.png
    19_11_23%2C28upper2.png
    19_14_28%2C27lower2.png

In the end, users will be able to choose a color - and have as much of it as they like.

Misc settings include an option for centering the clock, switching the position of the navbar buttons around (apply samsung layout) and to use the Aroma File Manager instead of the TWRP file manager.

So much for the soon to come update of Holofied. Thanks for tuning in...:D

    THEME FAQ

What's the difference between the dark and the dark_minimal theme?

The minimal themes only have one highlight color (dark holo blue).
The main advantage of the minimal themes is their reduced boot time compared to the multicolor versions.
They're ment to be used as base for porting or creating other single color versions.

Can I use this theme on my *devicename*?

Most likely yes. The themes can be used on any device with the screen resolution the filename of the theme suggests.
For example, the "1080_*variant*.zip" can be used on any FullHD device.

When I reboot to recovery, the theme isn't applied. Any ideas?

This is most likeley due to wrong naming of the theme folder or the ui.zip.
Make sure the folder is named "theme", without capital letters.
Also check if you accidentally renamed the downloaded zip to "ui.zip.zip" (common pitfall when renaming the zip in windows explorer).

When I reboot to recovery, I get a "recovery bootloop". Is my phone broken?

Nope, this is most likeley due to a bad download.
Please download the theme again using another browser or app. For instance, ES File Explorer's build-in downloader has proven to be unreliable for the dropbox links I provide.

I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?

Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.

Will you make a dark/black Play theme?

No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...

Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?

No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.

    RECOVERY REPACK FAQ

What version of TWRP is the repack?

Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.

I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
    1. Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
    2. Unpack the zip.
    3. Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
    4. Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
    5. Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
    6. In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
    7. Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
    8. Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?
    • Use the theme. It now supports direct image flashing from the install page.
    • Via Fastboot. Most useful to know how to (especially in case things go sideways).
    • Via app. For a variety of devices, Flashify has proven to be a good app for flashing recovery images. It's under (very) active development and I highly recommend to give it a try.
    • Alternative apps (can be device specific): SGS4 Flasher, ... (please help me to populate this part)

    AROMA FM
    1. Download this flashable zip.
    2. Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
    3. Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.
    4. Profit.
