Finally upgraded my 5.0 from 2.3 to 4.3. Here are some important notes:
1. If you're going from 2.3, flash CM 9 first.
2. The cLock app was killing my battery. Even though I blocked it from getting GPS, after an hour of use it had taken up 13% of the battery. I fixed it by deleting lockclock.apk.
3. The slideout navigation menu is nice, but it's on the bottom of the screen where many apps put their buttons. This makes it hard to hit those bottom buttons because the nav slideout overrides the touch. I fixed it by moving it to the left (long long hold the nav slideout until anchors show on the sides then long hold on the anchor).
4. As we're finding out, the sultan kernal creates a phone error loop. I didn't flash it and everything works.
Other than those, it works surprisingly well on the device. The touch doesn't respond as quickly as before (have to hold a fraction longer) and apps will occasionally drop out if I switch between too many at once (memory limits I assume), but I get all the other advantages of a 4.x OS. The only 'complaint' is I can't figure out how to turn off all the animations for opening apps, drop downs, going home, etc. I found the animation setting but it just lets me tweak them and not turn them off all together. I also can't figure out how to remove the search button from the nav slideout. I end up hitting it instead of menu.
I Had The Same Problem On This ROM But What The Problem Really Is Busy box. Its Not Installed Correctly Even If It Says It Is. Many Other Users Have Reported This Problem But There Has Been No Solution. What I Did Was Return To Remics-JB ROM. I'll Have To Do Without 4.3 For Now.
