I suspect everybody as moved on to ics

I guess people have moved on, its a pity, its a terrific rom and Mosaic has had a terrific run.

I am running Mosaic IX with JV's montage with over 200 apps and it runs well with very few issues.

I have had teamhacksung's ICS running on my development cappy off and on and its okay and now that "nightlies" are being built I'll give it another go.

I'm still running this lil beast myself! I tried ICS but it was missing a couple things to make me really happy with it. Perhaps next couple builds will make me change my mind about it.

Same here! I'm still running Mosaic on my phone, and I also tired ICS but it wasn't working out for me.

Yup Wolf you'll see me switching back and forth between Mosaic and Fusion CM9 for now. I'm stuck with my lil cappy for awhile and it's sad that everyone is moving on :( Hopefully the community will stay alive :)

Yep, the Cappy has been dev for quite a while now. It's normal that people are getting new devices. Imo it's even impressive that it lasted so long (not that it's completely dead).

Agreed. I have been tempted to try ICS, but the smoothness of Mosaic has kept me away from ICS and I am quite happy with the way my phone is running.

Have a quick question. Did Mosaic squash ads in free apps somehow? All the time I was on it, the free apps/most apps never had the ad bar at the bottom of course I thought this was normal (kids paint free, xda app, etc). Finally decided to try ICS and was going to go Fusion. By the time I got around to it, it appears as though Fusion is dead :(. Eventually went to CM9 but of course now I see ads in these apps.

Was just wondering if it was one of you guru's that did this?

My wife has an unrooted sgs2 and her kids paint free (same as mine) had ads in it and I thought it was weird until i went to ics and they showed for me as well.

Anyways, hated to jump ship as my 9 was running so well for so long and hated to see that the collective fusion was dead too once i got the nerve up. You all have done excellent work and I've been with you from Firefly and all through Mosaic since I've had my Cappy for well over a year. Wanted to say thank you all again for the hard work and dedication.

I will forever miss JoeDV's theme :). Perhaps I will go the Note when I'm due for an upgrade as I hear a lot of the team went this road. That way I can rejoin the collective.

Yup...i ran adaway and then threw in that host file into mosaic 9.

Go to the market and get it, run it, and no more adds :)

And yes, a lot of us are on the note (myself included) we just released our first ics ROM, seraphim, for it this morning

Thanks stud! I'll try that out. How are you all liking the note? I thought it would be too big but it seems to be selling really well.

It seriously only takes a day or so to get used to, then every single phone other than the note feels super tiny.... I gave my mom my captivate, and every time i hold it to help her out with something, i feel like a giant with it in my hands.

And as far a liking it...

PBAP

Does this ROM support PBAP (for blue tooth ... transfer of contacts)?

IF so, do I need to do something to get it to work. Just got a new car, and not having luck transferring my contacts.

[EDIT]
I found a post talking about needing to export the contacts to the SIM card, then use a BT file transfer program. But...when I go into contacts, and select Import/Expoert then select export to SIm card, it comes up with nothing listed, and I can't transfer anything to the SIM card.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I wonder if there will be a new Mosaic update soon. And if there is going to be one I hope that it's based off JW4. ;)

Ok Here is a fast and basic way to get to Mosaic 9 from 2.2.
Make sure you back up anything you want to keep. Pictures, Contacts, ect..[/SIZE]

At the bottom of the post you will find an attachment for an odin flashable Mosaic 9 .

Copy the file to your desktop and unzip it. Use any program you like. I used 7zip to zip it up. Free and handy. Inside you will find a folder, in that folder is 2 files. Odin and m9.tar.md5

    1. Remove sim card and Micro sd (if you have one and have backed up, if you have not backed up do that now then continue.) and put phone into download mode. There are tons of TUT on how to do that. If you are unsure how to put your phone in DL mode then maybe you should wait and read up some more first
    :D.

    2. Open odin and plug your phone into your pc. Odin will light up, letting you know it sees your phone.

    3.
Now click on PDA and select the M9.tar.md5 file. Ill give you a min to get ready. :D

    4. Ok Click start. Do not touch the phone or the connection till it is done.

    5. Now once thats done it'll boot into cwm recovery, from there wipe data/factory reset and then reboot. the bootanimation will play and then the screen will go black THIS IS NORMAL the phone is rebuilding the dalvik cache. just give it a minute and it will boot.

    6. Once booted...ENJOY MOSAIC :D
I have tried to write this as basic and simple as I can. I hope it helped some.

    FILES YOU NEED

    As for new stuff.
Download mode is no longer what it was, now it is hold volume down and power.
Recovery is now up and power

Thanks for the heads up dsmitty166
Some have had to use this to get into DL
vol down + soft home key + power
    (In that order)

...and yeah, it is a curse.

    Advice to users:
I would suggest, to any user of any rom, run the rom a while before slamming the developer with requests...especially after it is released. Give the developer some time to catch his/her breath. If there are issues that effect the usability of the rom, yes, do report so that it can be fixed as quickly as possible. But in the realm of aesthetics, sounds, or any other area that does not effect the usability of the rom...hold off. Give the dev, myself or any other, a week or so to rebuild steam, then bring up the small stuff. It's not that we don't wanna fix the small stuff, that is just as important. But believe it or not, releasing a rom is draining. And when we finally put up a piece of work that we are content with...getting nit picked, even when not intended as "picky", it can, and often does, comeoff as such.

Liken it to sex....when we finish, we don't wanna talk. We just wanna roll over and go to sleep. Yes, cuddling is fine...but cut the chit chat...I just wanna sleep :D
