Hi all. I am an owner of S4 active i9295 that fell for their "water proof" advertising took my phone under the pool to take some photos now my back and menu button doesn't work. Ive look through a few thread but there isnt any specific solution for this problem. If you experience this too I recommend 3 solution.

Step 2
enable the soft key ( refer to step 2 in 2nd method)
Step 3
In setting under navigation you should be able to enable and mod your softkey. For example resize the nav bar so you get more off your screen back..

That's it. Hope this help

If your Waterproof S4 has encountered water damage than you should definitely claim the warranty for that, they are surely going to fix it for you and for free. Why you are putting yourself in all that hassle?

Because warranty is void after you root your phone.

I don't think so the warranty gets void when you root your phone, as one of my friend rooted his phone and still he was able to claim the warranty.

You right some places they do. But some don't. Anyway its just a guide..it might come in handy for people who doesn't have warranty?

Hi all. I am an owner of S4 active i9295 ...

My menu and back buttons stopped working, but not due to water damage.

I have a solution similar to your first one, but I find that button overlays on the screen to be ugly and can get in the way. I use All In One Gestures (I have no affiliation).

The great thing about it is that can swipe from all different angles/sides of the screen to do different things, including but not limited to the hardware buttons. I actually use it to replace my home, menu, back and power buttons now. I swipe up for home, from right bottom for back, from left bottom for menu, from bottom right for recent apps, from top right for power menu and top left for screen off. I also use Gravity Screen as a means to turn the phone's screen both on and off. Now I only touch the power button to turn the phone on (or while in recovery/download modes).

I still use the volume buttons as I find them very convenient, but there are ways around using them as well without having to go through quick settings tiles.
