You have to chose install .zip from sd card/ internal sd card.

At first it won't show them, even with the internal sdcard selected. I remember I had to play with it for a second to get them to show up. I think was fixed it was touching on the already selected option of internal sdcard.

If I place the zips on the root of the (internal) sd card I find the zips under internal sd card data/media on TWRP and they flash appropriately. I have not used the kernel zips yet but successfully flashed a boot animation and the wifi toggle zip.

Thanks, that worked! Question though: anyone been able to use the kexec version of TWRP to boot into a kexec kernel using the zip method?

Nope. TWRP seems to mount the storage partitions differently. I can't get it to work at all with TWRP.

CWM Touch version works great, though, other than the time/date-stamps on backups being incorrect.

I was not able to run kexec kernel with neither of these kexec versions of touch recovery.

I haven't tried the recoveries in this thread; however, if you use EZ Recovery from the market and flash the CWM 6.01.0 recovery, I know that works.
