i have my arc rooted on fw 4.1.b.0.431, kernel 2.6.32.9-perfbuilduser@buildhost#1 running ICS 4.0.4

i used the Root_Exploit_OneClick after flashing the LT18i Kernel and now i am getting error messages:
"unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped"
"unfortunately, the process keypad has stopped"

i am getting a red 'X' on top of my reception bar and i am unable to get a signal

PLEASE HELP!!!! need to get this fixed ASAP!!

you should flash the 431 kernel after root . then feedback me.

i think you should try my method.:)
just know that by using my method you will update to 4.0.4, don't use this method if you don't want to update.

after i used buzzinkeegs's tutorial to root my Arc s i thought to put the 562 kernel in the 431 FTF, so the only thing you need to do is rooting with OneClick root exploit for the 4.0.3!

1) flash the ready to root 4.0.4

for the Arc s:

for the Arc:

2) root your Arc/s with this:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1601038

3) flash the 4.0.4 kernel

Arc kernel only:
http://uploaded.to/file/ivzlpk6e

Arc s kernel only:

that's all, you have a complete 4.0.4 rooted Arc/s!
only three steps, Flash Root Flash.

buzzinkeegs's tutorial:

hi please upload it went to another server?

thanks fo this it works well...tho i did a lot of errors until i flashed the 4.0.4 kernel

which made getting root harder but got there in the end.

the errors i got were com.android process has stopped working and the keypad.apk has stopped.

thanks to all for finding the work arounds and those who posted the ftf.

It's a known issue, it caused by the mix of the 4.0.3 kernel with the 4.0.4 Rom, that's why we need to flash the 4.0.4 kernel after the root.
