It works fine for me. You have to be rooted. Beware: root can cause problems with AT&T's OTA updater.
1) There are many posts regarding this subject. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2347793
2) Install BusyBox from Play Store. There are actually two parts to installing it. You must download it, install it, and then install it again. You will see what I mean when you do it.
3) Download and install the SG USB Mass Storage Enabler from the Play Store. I have no idea which particular version of the S4A that you have, but this works fine on the US AT&T Active (i537).
4) Make sure that you are using a good quality USB cable like the one that came with the phone. Some of the cheaper cables do not seem to work for data connections.

Has anybody noticed this. If you take the little water resistant cap off of the USB port on the S4 Active and hold it really close to your ear, you can hear a tiny voice scream, "Unlock me!"
