[Q] i9000 Internal Memory Issue
Okay so I have a GT-i9000
or Galaxy S. One day I powered off my phone and ever since I couldn't start it.
I was getting all kind of errors treating each with solutions from my solutions page in this forum.
- can't format internal memory via stock or custom recovery.
- error mounting /sdcard (file exist)
- error mounting /mmcblk0p1
- error mounting /mmcblk0p2
- error mounting /dbdata - flashed dbdata, without any luck
- internal memory not prepared yet
What I did so far was installing all bunch of roms for my phone and I was able to start it just the very first time after I complete the flash. If I shut it down, I go all the way round from the beginning.
I used heimdall, couple of versions and I figured out that won't help either, flashed semaphore, speedmod, tried to use those couple of xtra tools added but none of them worked. So what do I do?
I grab a 8Gb microSD card and make two partitions with minitool (first partition is ext4 2GB, with 6GB left as FAT32, both primary partitions) and plug it in the phone, after the flashing phone was booting each time I tried to boot. I edited permissions in the files in order for my camera to work that went well.
When I threw a look at Storage settings I was able to see the FAT32 6Gb memory available with 13.2Gb Internal memory. I plug the phone in my PC and I can use the 13.2G, transfer data, take pictures and stuff. I dunno why I did the next thing I did but I powered my phone off and wiped cache/did factory reset. All seemed to go well, no errors, phone boots normally but ever since my memory suddenly dissapeared (shows Unavailable).
If I do flash without the extended SD card phone will boot only once ( after the flash ) and everything is working, Memory is there under Storage Settings, but If I shut it down all goes down the drain.
So, what's the question?
I've been browsing through the forum for 2 days now but I've never seen anything like this. You either have the Internal SD available or not. Why is it available/unavailable under certain circumstances?
Im okay with the rom being on the externalSD but I just want to keep an eye of the memory. Right now I can't cause it says unavailable, but the very first time i tried installing ROM on externalSD it was fine. What is the problem?
