[Q] damaged mic? Help!
Hello. I dropped my Nexus 4 (facepalm) and just replaced the lcd/digitizer/frame. Upon reassembly, there are two things amiss:
1. My mic doesn't work, or is substantially quieted (thumping the phone in a sound recording app produces faint taps in the recording). Switching to speakerphone or using a headset works just fine.
2. Occasionally after a few minutes of use, the touch screen input just stops working altogether. A hard power reset fixes this immediately (until next time).
I have disassembled/ reassembled the phone several times. All hardware looks to be in good condition, cables are snapped on securely, microphone looks largely undamaged.
I have been running CM 10.1.2 since it came out without a hitch. As of right now I am downloading CM-10.1.3-RC2, I'm curious if reflashing a kernel will fix either of my issues.
I tried adjusting my build.prop as suggested in this thread:
where as my setting was persist.audio.handset.mic=dmic, I changed it to amic and rebooted to no avail. I have since changed it back to dmic.
I am about at the end of my rope and the end of my budget. I cannot tell for certain if my issues are hardware or software related, or both, but I suspect the software. Please help!
