One of the last Atrix 4Gs I rebuild I gave to my best friend. Makes his first Android. The guy is just evil with phones. I have repaired this one a few times but never anything major. Screen and some minor stuff. My favorite love with this phone is you simply pop out the bad part, snap in a new one, and off you go.
Well this time it went for a dive in the toilet. Yea post use. He told me about it and he remembered the rice trick. So I picket it up and grudgingly began work on it. Got a good laugh. Washed my hand alot.
Here is the deal with a wet Atrix4g. It simply won't hurt it as long as you recover it properly. First remove the battery ASAP. Carefully dismantle it completely. Submerge everything in clean rubbing alcohol. This will displace any water trapped in very small spaces by disrupting the surface tension and opposing buoyancy. Take the screen and digitizer out after 30 seconds. Let them dry separately. Then after more than 2 hours remove the rest. Let it all dry in pieces for a day. RE assemble your phone and enjoy it since it has never been that clean.
