BoomSound i thought was pretty good. I just flashed the HK mod and honestly don't notice much difference through external dual speakers on highest volume setting. So viper mod and HK mods both will work together?

If so, what is the best settings for BT audio and wired headsets?

I mainly listen to Hip Hop, classic rock, and Metallica.

Thanks

Here is what I use with the stock ear buds that came with the phone

PlaybackAGC enabled
Max gain 8
Effect strength extreme
Max output 0

Convolver enabled
Irs I use Creative X-fi Z-Edition acoustic,Z-Edition HTC beats, I always switch these up
I also have a bunch more Z-Edition IRS love them all

Cross channel 40%

Field surround enabled
Both effects are set to extreme

Diff sound enabled
2ms

VHS+ enabled
Effect 2

Dynamic system enabled sometimes disable if it's to bassy

Select listening device
Common earphone V2

Select dynamic bass
0 percent

Viper Bass enabled
Frequency 78 HZ

BASS BOOST
10-12 depending on how I feel

Viper Clarity enabled

Clarity mode xhifi or ozone
Xhifi BOOST 3.5,6,or8 is good
Ozone select 8 or 10 for the boost

Cure tech enabled

Level I use extreme a lot but the all sound good

Output gain set to 6.0

Also I enable Fir Equalizer here is my setting in a screen shot of the EQ

Also for HK I enable clarifi and live soundstage Using the all headphones option in hk settings

Try the normal or Z-Edition IRS from Creative : Creative X-Fi Only Crystalizer 10 + Bass Boost.irs. Combined best with boom sound (not H/K) try it out guys !! Its the best sound quality with this IRS in my opinion, i tried them all. ;)

Oh I see. I don't mind shelling out a couple bucks for this, but I used his free IRSs and was not that impressed. Wondering if the paid one's are that much better.

Which ones did you try? Also tweaking the app just right helps combined with an IRS. I personally have purchased the HTC beats, Sony, Creative X-fi and Apple ipod Z-Editions. All depends on what device and Earbuds or Headphones you are using I personally like the Creative acoustic and Creative Rock and Creative Pop also Htc beats, on my Nexus 5 the Sony clear+ Audio was the shiznit. I'm using the stock earbuds that came with the M8

I've been using Viper4Android on 2 devices now (galaxy nexus and now the m8 hk edition), and the difference is all the profile you set up. Just installing it doesnt do much, and which profile you like is all personal taste. Like I personally like a decent amount of bass with a nice surround effect (makes it seem like you arent even listening to headphones).

Here is my headphone profile for the m8 if anyone is interested (ignore the other profiles there since they dont have anything, viper just saves profiles for headphones, speaker and bluetooth all at once).
http://www.mediafire.com/view/b8jn59cju3hxkfw/com.vipercn.viper4android_v2.headset.xml
IRS used-
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/vxor1qkxd0t46dp/Dolby_Pro_Logic_II_1.irs

Instructions-
install viper4android (obviously)
Choose super audio quality
Set UI to expert mode
Create ViPER4Android folder on sdcard/internal storage
Create 2 folders in the ViPER4Android folder named Kernel and Profile
Create a folder named clear_surround in the Profile folder and put the com.vipercn.viper4android_v2.headset.xml file in it
Put Dolby_Pro_Logic_II_1.irs in the Kernel folder
Open viper4android and load effect profile clear_surround
Play music and profit :)

Tried it and found too much bass on the IRS i used which ever settings.

Especially bad when using Bluetooth in the car as the bass overpowers the speakers to the point where its not even bass.

I had the same experience. I think the IRS stuff is really aimed more at headphones.

You need to swipe the screen to the right to access Bluetooth Device tab. Find a profile for your need here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2324454

for bass, you can try: enable Viper Bass
Bass mode: Pure Bass+
Bass frequency: minimum
Bass boost: 3.5 db

& work up the frequency & boost to your liking.
select & de-select Fire equalizing (deep) see if that makes any difference to your liking.

I've tried probably 30 IRS files and played with all the settings. The Convolver just seems to push the gain too high for the car speakers to handle (I've got pretty decent equipment, far from stock). I'm not sure if the dynamic range is too high for non-earphone speakers or what, but there just isn't a combination of settings that sounds better than without it.

Mind sharing your set up in this thread?

I've tried out a few and never really noticed a difference.
To me (personally) the WoW factor of v4a is:
    1. Enable Viper-DDC
    2. Listening Device: Pick the right earphones/headset from the list & you physically have them.
    3. Matching irs with your earphones/headsets.

EDIT: Under Convolver (Menu > UI Setting > Moderate or Expert) > tab on Impulse Response & ViPER4Android/Kernel folder will be created by the app)
(download & put the irs into /storage/emulated/legacy/ViPER4Android/Kernel folder.

    4. Follow below steps:

Open up v4a app in your app draw > Menu > UI Setting > Expert > follow this instruction

I use the Clarity setup found in the Viper thread but I use the device setup for my Headphones.

The key is finding the Sony Xperia IRS which you have to pay for. There are other methods of obtaining it but I can't share them. Once you have that piece the audio is 100x better.

Would you be able to do a big favor and upload your profile so we can use it? I'm having a hard time copying the clarity set-up. Thanks!

Ok, i'm not sure where you're stuck at. But here is step by step how to install v4a app from my other post.

    For the profile:
    1. Open up v4a app from your app draw. You should be in Phone Speaker setup. Swipe to the right to access Headset (swipe to the left is to access Bluetooth Device)
    2. Once you're under Headset Tab > Hit the 3 dot Menu on top right > UI Setting > Expert.

    1. Master Power: enable
    2. Viper DDC: enable
Listening Device: choose yours. mine is Beats by Dr. Dre - urbeats (I actually have them).
    3. FIR Equalizer: enable
    - Preset: Acoustic

    4. Convolver: enable.
    - Impulse Response (Tab on it, the app will create ViPER4Android/Kernel folder for you)
Download the irs samples & put them in ViPER4Android/Kernel folder.
Some irs samples can be found here & The Sony Xperia sound enhancement can be found here

My selection for Impulse Response is TRacks DeEssed Master 2

    5. Headphone Surround +: enable
    - Effect Quality: Level 1

    6. Dynamic System: enable
    - Listening Device: High-end Headphone(v1) (I also have an actual headphone)
    - Dynamic Bass: 24 Percent

    7. Fidelity Control
    - ViPER Bass: enable
    - Bass Mode: Natural bass
    - Bass Frequency: 60 Hz
    - Select Bass Boost: 6.0 dB
    - ViPER Clarity: enable
    - Clarity Mode: XHiFi
    - Select Clarity: 8.0 dB

    8. Master Gate(Limiter)
    - Ouput Gain: -6.0 dB
    - Channel Pan: 0.5:0.5
    - Limit Threshold: 0dB

that's it. You can just back out or hit that 3dot Menu & save Effect profile.
    Lemme know the result.
