Wanted to check if someone could help me with this or even make a suggestion.

Want to make my sd card read speed 3 mb or 4 mb, instead of the default 1 mb on this rom.

Don't want too use any startup apps to increase the speed. Would prefer to add to the startup scripts in the init.d folder.

Suggestions pls, thanks!

Sent from my HTC Vision

In the ILWT tweak performance file, I did find this code but don't know it doesn't work or it isn't what I am thinking it is. I checked used an app and the sd card speeds say I have 1 mb.

This is the code I am referring to.

# Increase readahead buffers on MMC devices
tweak /sys/block/mmcblk0/bdi/read_ahead_kb 3072
tweak /sys/block/mmcblk1/bdi/read_ahead_kb 3072

hey guys, got a little question,

is it possible to add a transparent notificationbar via any apps? or is it possible to get it as an option in ilwt.txt for the next update? had it in leedroid with my desire hd and a friend of mine got it in the blackicerom for the desire hd and it really looks better than the stock one :)

Little confused, you suggesting i add that line in the tweaks file with the speed in the end? Wanted to make sure that I don't ruin my working instance of the rom :)

Also, what do you suggest is tgw optimum read speed?

Thanks!

I am using the ics theme for the cm7 and it works superbly wonderful. Semi transparent task bar on a pulldown and colors from ics, just wonderful :)

Can't share a screenshot using the mobile version, else I would.

Ok I am a step up, adding the line didn't work. But unwashed able to locate the read ahead file. And now I am going to add in the speed manually. Thanks for this lead :)

that's a command that you run from shell, if it returns 3072 (it does with me), it works.

It is probably 1024 by default in CM7, can't remember honestly. Do you have other tweakers installed or is this simply plain ILWT CM7?

Have v6 running, but I don't think it changes your sd read speeds.

For me to set the speeds using some app on startup is no issue, but I was just wanting it to be a cleaner mod, bit its okay :)

Thanks for the effort..

I have one question but i cannot post in topic because i have not spammed other forums with 10 posts (im new here).

I have this problem after updating to 350 (using ilwt since no new nightlies by cm7 team)
I press pwr button, and light go on but screen remains black. do it again and then it wakes up.
I open my kb, screen remains black and takes up to 10sec to get my homescreen visible.
I have not tweaked any settings in oc, so they are all default. What i tried is to set up sleeping cpu to 368, but no help from that.

Do you have any ideas?

BR,
Rami

Definitely sounds like it's an issue with the sleep profile. Try raising it to the same level of the wake profile, and see if that fixes it. If it does, slightly move it back down until you see the issue happening again. You'll know the exact values your phone supports without a problem.

But it has worked until 350 without modifying any values. I adjusted both sleep and wake minimum to 368 and even to 576, but it still happens.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

So far, the ROM is behaving nicely (and I'm one of those folks who prefers 'boring but stable' as far as messing with Gingerbread, look at this as 'the show-stoppers are pretty much fixed so now we work on tweaking and optimisation' :D).

Speaking of which--ever in the hunt to optimise GPS performance even MOAR on here, I've been doing some experimentation. :D

The one issue I still have had with GPS performance until recently (and keep in mind it's been performing extremely well, but I'm not satisfied until I get perfection :D) is that the ROM as stands now hasn't been pulling aGPS info without it being explicitly "pushed"--if a lock seems slowish, I've been refreshing aGPS info via GPS Test, and have been able to see via u-center that the issue seems to be that the GPS was slow to pull ephemerides tables (indicated by "E") whilst almanac tables seem to be pulled OK (which will still result in a fix--just not as fast a fix).

I have found a possible solution in a recent thread about an aGPS patch for the Desire Z--basically it uses a custom gps.conf pointing to a smartphone-optimised NTP and XTRA server set run by an XDA developer, also uses a SuplRootCert file that doesn't come with the CM7 ROM used as the basis for ILWT CM7.

With the HTC drivers/RILs + the custom gps.conf/SuplRootCert, performance of GPS is now pretty much exactly stock, and ephemerides data is pushed properly from a cold boot after EFS wipe.

This may be worth considering as an install-time option in ILWT.txt for those who've had occasional issues getting a GPS lock even with the HTC GPS driver and radio RILs.

I also have the screen not turning on issue. Sometimes when I unlock the phone the LCD doesn't turn on, but the touch sensor is still responsive. I think I also had the problem in CM 7.1 RC but I'm not sure.

Also while we're on the topic of bugs, Is there a fix for the physical keyboard acting as if the menu key is pressed while typing (even though it's not)?

I, too, have this issue, but it doesn't appear to be confined to ILWT, as I am using an unofficial Kang (build 353). This problem started somewhere after Build 333, as that one worked, ILWT or not.

Yes, some variations.

Around 1x/week the screen just won't come on, requiring a battery pull.

More recently (possibly since 350) the power button will occasionally (1x/day?) not switch on anything but the hardware button lights. Hitting the power button twice more tends to get things going, with a bit of a lag (5s/10s)

I am also getting this. Though, as stated above pressing the power button twice solves this.

@qpop When saying the screen just won't come on you're saying that whatever you do the phone will not respond? If that's the case then it might have to do with the battery contacts which are a bit loose in with this particular phone, and most of the time are the reason why people get such behaviour. You can try to snug some paper in the battery compartment (top part) so it stays put. Personally after doing so I never had such an issue. Your case might not be the same but it's worth trying.

I'm getting the screen not on issue too. It especially doesn't turn on for me when opening the keyboard if the screen is off. It will turn on when I close the keyboard, but not when I open it.

Simply flash the .zip file from recovery (it must support KitKat ROM, latest versions of TWRP and 4ext should work), nothing fancy needs to be done. Make sure to do a full wipe if you are coming from a different ROM.

If you are going to report any bug, please do it only after a full wipe, with stock kernel, and no other modification to the ROM (especially no Xposed). Also, you must provide logs (logcat and/or last_kmsg). I will not look into the issue if any of these requirements aren't satisfied.

    Notes

It is possible to change kernel, as long as it is AOSP. Just make sure to adjust the frequencies found in the files at /system/etc/virtuous_oc, they have to exist in the kernel you are using. I recommend to always use ondemand governor, but especially do not use smartass or scary governor. The OC Daemon has a sleep profile which would become useless if used with either of those governors.

If you are coming from a ROM that isn't a CM7 nightly, a full wipe is required. I recommend using SuperWipeG2+ext4 (ext4 version of SuperWipeG2+). Make sure to do a Nandroid Backup of your current ROM before flashing the file.

The ROM has been tested with this phone configuration

By default, the OC Daemon is configured as follows (ondemand governor for wake, conservative governor for sleep):

Virtuous OC Daemon:

ILWT CM7 kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1017

CM7 kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1113

pershoot kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1017

ILWT OC Daemon:

ILWT CM7 kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1017, temperature: >=40 245/768, battery: <=25 245/768, charge: 245/1113

CM7 kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1113, temperature: >=40 245/768, battery: <=25 245/768, charge: 245/1113

pershoot kernel - sleep: 245/576, wake: 245/1017, temperature: >=40 245/768, battery: <=25 245/768, charge: 245/1113

You can adjust these values in the files found in /system/etc/virtuous_oc.

Make sure to uninstall SetCPU (or any app alike), as the OC Daemon will not start if it is present (it checks every time the phone boots).

I will try to update this thread after each major CM7 nightly release.

ILWT CM7 is also available from ROM Manager

You can find more detailed instructions on how to use the ILWT.txt configuration file here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=17528206&postcount=183

Latest version of stock CM7 kernel with following changes:

Added frequencies 576MHz, 902MHz, 1017MHz, 1507MHz, 1574MHz

Removed frequencies 1497MHz, 1516MHz

Slightly undervolted

Exposed VDD levels to userspace, so that voltages for all frequencies can be modded at any time

Added SIO scheduler and made it default

Enabled swap support
v1.8.0 md5: ad7ba8efd08501da1cb77567c74d535c
    Also available on ROM Manager.

    ILWT OC Daemon

Based on Virtuous OC Daemon (all credits go to rmk)

Changed name so that it isn't confused with the original OC daemon. Current GUI apps do not work with ILWT OC Daemon.

Same rules apply: make sure that there is no other CPU controller running (such as SetCPU), or the daemon will stop running.

Added temperature profile: when temperature gets too hot, lower frequencies

Added battery capacity profile: when battery is too low, lower frequencies

Added charging profile: if phone is charging, use this profile

There is only one configuration file that the daemon uses upon starting. The default one is found at /system/ilwt/ilwt_oc.conf

Upon starting, the daemon will also check if /sdcard/ILWT/ilwt_oc.conf exists. If it does, it will load the configuration from that file first. If the file is not present or if it is missing some values, the daemon will use the values found in the default configuration file in /system/ilwt/ilwt_oc.conf.

Priority for profiles is: sleep > temperature > charging > battery capacity > wake. This means that it is better to set lowest frequencies for sleep. The wake frequencies are only going to be used if the battery is not too hot, if it has enough capacity left, and if the phone is not charging. If the screen is off, the sleep profile will always be used.

Because of the way the sys files are set up, to switch between the wake profile and the battery, charging, or temperature profiles, the screen must turn off and then back on.

Devs: feel free to add the daemon to your ROM. It would be a nice gesture if you gave credits and a link to this thread, but it's ok either way.
Download link: ILWT CM7 Daemon v1.3.0. It works on any ROM of any flavor (including Sense). All phones are supported as long as you have a kernel that is overclockable. I am not 100% sure that it is possible to use the config file from the SD card on every phone, though.
    md5: b1fa8b451479f6d8ff79b8812eb4d3f6
    Also available on ROM Manager.

The zip file is created with this specific ROM in mind. It will work on other ROMs also, but it will always use the configuration file for the ILWT CM7 kernel. Make sure you check that the frequencies exist for your kernel, otherwise create your configuration file at /sdcard/ILWT/ilwt_oc.conf and set the correct values. Here is a sample ilwt_oc.conf configuration file.

    Installation
Simply flash the .zip file from recovery (it must be 4ext, CWM is not supported), nothing fancy needs to be done. I always wipe cache and Dalvik cache before flashing, just to make sure nothing gets screwed up. Make sure to do a full wipe if you are coming from a different ROM (CM7 nightlies are ok if they are not too old, no need to full wipe in that case).

    ILWT OC Daemon: little fix
Fixed issue with SD card being mounted after the OC daemon has started. Now the SD card configuration file can be used successfully
Possibility to set the GPS server to use. Use gpsfix=name.of.ntp.server.com in ILWT.txt, where "name.of.ntp.server.com" is a real ntp server. This is the same thing that FasterFix does, without the necessity of having an app installed and having to run it after every flash. See NTP.txt file in OP for a list of servers that you can use.
Configuration file is now read from inside ILWT folder instead of root of SD card (/sdcard/ILWT/ILWT.txt). The configuration file will automatically be moved from the root of your SD card if you have it there (and not in the new location)
Apps for custom apps installation are to be placed in /sdcard/ILWT/apps folder now
Changed the installer: it won't output any of the customizations to screen. Instead, it will create a log file at /sdcard/ILWT/logs/ILWT.log
Possibility to set the delay of the wifi scan. Set wifiscan=number in ILWT.txt, where number is a multiple of 15.
ILWT OC Daemon: changed location of configuration files: /system/ilwt/ilwt_oc.conf and /sdcard/ILWT/ilwt_oc.conf (they will be moved automatically from old location).

Possibility to use a custom boot animation. Use bootanimation=custom in ILWT.txt and place a valid bootanimation.zip file in /sdcard/ILWT.

Updated to latest CM7 nightly (October 22, 9:30PM EST)

ILWT CM7 236:
    Possibility to change "connection icons". There are 3 choices: 1) stock, 2) 4G instead of H (use connicons=4g in ILWT.txt), 3) H+ instead of H, and H instead of 3G (use connicons=h+ in ILWT.txt). Credits to sino8r

Use cerberus=yes in ILWT.txt

GPS libraries are now automatically selected for radios 26.10.04.12, 26.10.04.03, 26.08.04.30, and 26.03.02.06 (gpslib value in ILWT.txt is ignored for those radios)

Possibility to install Titanium Backup. Use titaniumbackup=yes in ILWT.txt.
Possibility to install custom apps. Simply put the .apk files in a folder named ILWT in the root of your SD card. The installer will look for any .apk file in there and install them in /data/app. Use customapps=yes in ILWT.txt.

ILWT CM7 187:
Possibility to include the OC Daemon controller during installation by adding a line in the ILWT.txt configuration file: ocdaemoncontroller=yes
Optimized the patched build.prop. Credits to kusuriurikun, again.
Changed sleep governor of OC Daemon to conservative.
Added a modified stock CM7 kernel: slightly undervolted a few frequencies and added 2 frequencies: 1017, 1612. This will be the default kernel from now on.
Updated GO Launcher EX and GO SMS Pro to latest version.
This update is not based on CM7 nightly 187 (no releases due to kernel.org breach). I have compiled the updated (yesterday) CM7 nightly code from source.

ILWT CM7 186b:
Inclusion of Tiamat kernel v1.1.2 (selectable from ILWT.txt configuration file). Default values for OC Daemon controller:

Sleep: 192/422

Wake: 192/1036
viperMOD v3 beta RC2.4 is pre-installed when using the Tiamat kernel. This allows for easily tweaking the voltages of the kernel.
Possibility to decide if build.prop is going to be patched. Patched build.prop will remove T-Mobile references and change some values to (hopefully) increase mobile data performance (credits to kusuriurikun to point out some issues with it).

ILWT CM7 186:
Possibility to customize the ROM before flashing it. This is possible through a text file named ILWT.txt that is placed in the root of the SD card. The customizations include:

Kernel choice: stock CM7 or pershoot

Google apps: installed or not installed

Launcher: ADW, GO Launcher EX, or completely removed

Messaging: stock CM7, GO SMS Pro, or completely removed

Calendar: stock CM7, Jorte, or completely removed

E-mail: stock CM7, K-9 Mail, or completely removed

Music: stock CM7, Google Music (for users of Music Beta), or completely removed

File Manager: stock CM7 or completely removed (for those that have paid for Root Explorer)

Spare Parts: stock CM7 or completely removed

T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling: installed or not installed

Nightly 186:
Changed some values in build.prop in order to try to increase data connection performance (feedback is appreciated).
Provided two separate releases: one with CM7 kernel, one with pershoot kernel (this will always be the case from now on, unless one of the two kernels proves itself to be objectively better than the other).
Removed Provision.apk as it conflicts with Google app "SetupWizard.apk".
Changed the colors of the boot animation (red).
OTA Update through ROM Manager is now available.
    Updated to latest CM7 nightly.
