So far, the ROM is behaving nicely (and I'm one of those folks who prefers 'boring but stable' as far as messing with Gingerbread, look at this as 'the show-stoppers are pretty much fixed so now we work on tweaking and optimisation'
).
Speaking of which--ever in the hunt to optimise GPS performance even MOAR on here, I've been doing some experimentation.
The one issue I still have had with GPS performance until recently (and keep in mind it's been performing
extremely well, but I'm not satisfied until I get perfection
) is that the ROM as stands now hasn't been pulling aGPS info without it being explicitly "pushed"--if a lock seems slowish, I've been refreshing aGPS info via GPS Test, and have been able to see via u-center that the issue seems to be that the GPS was slow to pull ephemerides tables (indicated by "E") whilst almanac tables seem to be pulled OK (which will still result in a fix--just not as fast a fix).
I have found a possible solution in
a recent thread about an aGPS patch for the Desire Z--basically it uses a custom gps.conf pointing to a smartphone-optimised NTP and XTRA server set run by an XDA developer, also uses a SuplRootCert file that doesn't come with the CM7 ROM used as the basis for ILWT CM7.
With the HTC drivers/RILs + the custom gps.conf/SuplRootCert, performance of GPS is now pretty much exactly stock, and ephemerides data is pushed properly from a cold boot after EFS wipe.
This may be worth considering as an install-time option in ILWT.txt for those who've had occasional issues getting a GPS lock even with the HTC GPS driver and radio RILs.
