Now is the time for everyone who has not donated to the great devs we have to break out their paypal! This initial great group of devs are helping us all out by creating a foundation for rom/kernel/whatever devs to provide us their magic from now on. Without these guys laying the framework none of that would be possible. Remember that we are very lucky that this mostly obscure device is getting the fabulous development support it is at this time. So show your support and DONATE!!
So just to be one the safe side.... The bootloader had to be actually locked and not just hex edit locked correct? Also, having the bootloader locked while S-Off doesn't affect being able to flash custom splash screens and such? Thanks in advance.
@scotty123 Has anyone tested this on the Sprint or the Verizon version?
@logikzzz you can post your partition dumps here and scotty would be glad to help
Jm@n reported in post 15 that it was working for sprint. i have looked at vzw dumps and the lock flag is in the correct location. if any vzw users want to test and report yay or nay ill add you to the credits.. or look into it further
Fast response thanks i guess i missed reading the OP on the sprint confirmation.
lol i just ninja'ed it in there i knew someone had reported it,but i found the post just now to make sure.
Since my hboot shows as normal and I don't use the fingerprint scanner I forgot about doing this. I can test later on if no one else does. I prefer the bootloader unlocked and don't need fingerprint so will test lock and unlock and report back.i have looked at vzw dumps and the lock flag is in the correct location. if any vzw users want to test and report yay or nay ill add you to the credits.. or look into it further
..i can confirm soff working on vzw one max and after locking the fingerprint reader works again flawlessly. great job guys!!

Scotty would it be ok if I make a Windows GUI interface for your method?
I.E. a Windows box that has 2 buttons "Lock and Unlock" that pushed the commands in the background?
I am practicing my programming and seems like a really simple project to help me build something.
Credit will be given of course.
sure,no prollem. make sure you credit s-trace and his thread(credited in my OP) for originally figureing out the lock/unlock flag location
Hey guys quick Q just so I'm 100% sure.
Unlocking using this method is just a flag change, correct? Therefore it won't go wiping the data partition?
Just testing the GUI now. Giving Credits so on so forth. Then I should be able to push it out. I will package it with fastboot.exe to avoid "issues" for those not in the know.
Here is a preview. Still working out adb issues in the command execution.
troubleshooting connectivity issues:
-try a reboot of the PC
-try different usb cables and ports
-dont use a usb hub
-dont use usb 3.0
-make sure nothing capable of comunicating with the phone is enabled and running. htc sync, pdanet, easy tether, and even itunes have all been known to cause issues.
-windows 8 has been known to have issues. try a windows 7 or older machine
failing the above,
-i use these drivers for fastboot and adb(donwload and run as admin): http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe (mirror)
failing that, try manually updating the drivers in the following manner:
-put the phone in fastboot mode(select fastboot from the hboot menu)
-open device manager on the PC
-plug in phone, watch for it to pop up in device manager.
-update drivers with device manager, pointing the wizard to the extracted
driver download folder from above
note that you can check the connectivity of the phone, and make sure drivers are working by in the following manner:
-open cmd window. change to directory containing adb/fastboot utilities
-adb with the phone in the booted OS,usb debug enabled, enter:
adb devices in a cmd window
-fastboot with phone in fastboot,enter:
fastboot devices in cmd window
in either case,a properly connected phone with working drivers installed should report back the phones serial number.

I have created a specific thread citing sources from HTC and Koush in the General forum.
It has corrected some of my misconceptions. Moreover it has also given me insight into the Device Security.
_ The day get the One max. I have a lot of thing to do! Repair the House, important pairty, uncle visit, play with unknown usb Max driver to S-off, can't get super Cid with unknow problem read feature to pick and Howto install a rom. And you say me Don't want to search !?
Or, you can tell me, which the Key !! to help me search my question !? Or Read all the thread - the only way to know that tigh!?
Any way. Thanks you helpless Answer. Or if you can't help- Just silent. Thank you!
hmmmm by looks of it you have to unlock with htc dev first to get s off, trying to install custom recovery without bootloader ulocked gives you an error
