This is not me complaining (Thanks so much!) or asking for an ETA on your work but I am at the end of my rope with ICS. The ROM starts out fast but now after a few weeks of using it switches apps so so slowly. I changed from the default interactive to OnDemand and oc'd to 1.2ghz which shows some improvement. Recently I removed surface dithering and made the vmheap 48m as well as allowing purging of assets (not sure how much that helps)

This on top of silly things (silly as in not a big deal not silly that its not working) like mic not working for skype, voice actions etc and camera issues just makes me sad. My 2 questions are:

1) What can I do to try to speed things up/see what's slowing me down?

2) How reasonable is it to expect these "silly" issues to be repaired within a reasonable time (weeks, not months)?

I know people on these forums are sensitive about these kinds of post so I will give a preemptive "I'm so sorry" but I have to ask!

1)Full wipe will solve the speeds problem it's sure, but if you don't want to lose all "Supercharger v6" will be a good solution. Don't know how to find it :/ never used you shod look around for supercharger

2)How much time? you say... Im still working/testing things, all the "silly" things have been fixed and will be in next release in some days/weeks ok! months.. no way

Your reply is much appreciated! Patience is a virtue, I can wait. As for wiping, do you know if a full system backup/restore with Titanium will restore the same lag I am having even after a wipe? If so, wiping is such a pain to set up every app. I will look into supercharger as well, heard people mentioning it before.

Im pretty sure.. yes
Most lag are done by a surcharged data and/or cache partion, things like "unused app data/config, too much text massage, call history, random and doubled contact sync by apps"
If you have 200 apps and there's only 2mb left in data im pretty sure if you remove unused apps this will help a lot

Look into Rom Manager also, its on the market and in the XDA threads somewhere. I use it and it works.

I get many pop up messeges with "-some asian text- is stopped". I get this pop up with every action, it's very annoying. Any suggestions on what I should do to solve this?

Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA

Solved! The default keyboard was set to Chinese. I switched back to swiftkey x and the error disappeared.

ok thank you for your answer

I found two other problems not very serious:

the weather widget can't give me my exact position, even when I manually refresh it always find myself in a city next to my position at nearly 15km

and next to my network signal reception it shows me only the symbol "R", and do not tell me if I + 3g, 3g, 2g.

may be, the problem comes from the fact that I am in France?

but i love this rom, very fluid, very simple, very light, this is what i like, great jobs!!!

The "R" symbol means you are roaming (using data connection abroad). You could try to search for your network carrier manually. Once you selected your carrier from the list, this problem should be solved.

I tried but the problem persists, it is not very important, because when I'm on the internet, I still feel being in 3g
the problem is just be because I'm on the new French operator went out 3 months ago

It would be nice to know whether this rom is still being developed. An ETA from the CM team on when CM9 will be released for the Desire Z would be even nicer, but that's not going to happen I guess.

Though I don't understand why it takes so long, especially since they've announced they are working with other developers now who have already got alpha versions working.

And since HTC will only release ICS for the Desire S and Desire HD cyanogenmod is probably our best hope to get a good ics daily driver.

By the way I really respect the work jerl92 has done on getting this to us ahead of time.

For me this is the most promising ICS ROM. Was stable enough, fast enough. Watching this thread and looking forward for next releases. Hope it will come soon :)

I'd appreciate if following fixes / improvement will appear in next release:

-Bluetooth audi track information transfer. It works at CM7 well, but not here. For Bluetooth head set with display or car audio music play.
-MIC for applications like sound hound should be working
-thumbnails in gallery are somehow messed or do not show proper image
-better video support for various codecs. most of videos are choppy and some TV streams plays only sound.
-screen lock settings ignores delay settings

Sorry for the inactivity, i have buy a laptop for cheap and i was configuring a build environment for ICS, who may work with JellyBean too.
I have succeeded to build ICS from scratch and now i'm almost ready for a new release, need to fix and update the 3.0 kernel before any new release, the frame buffer is broken at this moment. and the WI-FI hotspot have been fix. :victory:

A lot of people say that i should make a CM10 build to have more chose..
Like blk_jack have say earlier i'm using some Andromadus commit for my kang.
Well my CM10 build will look a lot like Flinny test build but mine will be more proper, more CM10 related, less

If you would like that i make a CM10 kang. Click on thanks!! :highfive:
    7
Well I'm going back to CM7.
This is not a working rom actually.
Backup functions and Google Account should be INTEGRATED IN the rom, not installed separatelly.
I can't install any working app from the store without gaps and I can't install gaps without an explorer. Stupid. And if I install Titanium Bckp from an apk that does NOT work propelly. Titanium is being shut down every time I run it (after about 30 secconds of using it).
    That sucks!

And Could anyone EXPLAIN me why the rom does not have these features included???
Maybe I don't understand something here.

    greetings

You're acting like a complete dummy who can't figure out the basics of flashing ROMs 101. Seriously, read some of the stickied posts and stop ignoring the advice people have already given you in this thread.

To summarize for you, not that I think you'll read this reply but I might as well give it a go:

    1. CyanogenMod cannot bundle gapps with their ROMs due to Google (licensing restrictions)
    2. You flash gapps through your recovery, just like you do when installing a ROM
    3. You can create a flashable zip from within Titanium Backup that you can flash with your ROM to have TiBu automatically installed w/o market access

Honestly though, I think you really should stick w/ stock. There are things you have to do to install ICS properly (make sure your partitions are ext4, etc) that I simply don't think you're equipped enough to handle. As they say, KISS.

Hey don't let this post die
I'm still working on it ;)

New major change will be :
    -Lord Clockan's kernel
    -Panorama Camera
    -ICS audio with MIC working
and the last but not the least
    -CyanogenMod 9 Boot Animation @ 75FPS

with all the new things from cyanogen git :)

will try OMX integrated before any new release, but if you make pressure for a new release i will do it :)

any tips how to get camera flash working ?

    terminal app > su > chmod 777 /sys/camera_led_status/led_ril_status
