I see a lot of people who say they left this ROM after weeks due to a build up of lag. I just dont understand that. I know all the Sensations are different and will act differently, but with some kernel switching and adding the Multitasking Mod (as well as the 3G TurboCharger script), this ROM is so far from a laggy experience.
To those with said lag, have you tried swapping kernels? Clearing up unused temp files? I feel with a little bit of maintenance from time to time this is hands down the best ROM I've ever had, on any device I've owned. Been running Viper since 1.2.0, I rarely reboot my phone and i put in some really heavy usage and gameplay most days and i have virtually no lag.
After weeks of use, here's the only bugs I've come across:
* After hitting "Send" in Messages, if i immediately hit the Back button before the message sends, the messaging app force closes, but sends the message anyway, but shows as pending.
* Sometimes, when clicking to view a new message from the Notification Drop Down menu, the custom background i set does not show, but if i leave the app and open it thru the messaging icon, custom background is intact.
* When choosing "USB Tethering" in the Dialog that pops up when plugged into the computer, is does not work. However, choosing "Charge Only" and then manually switching on USB Tethering is the Settings app, it works perfectly (and i use this often because my mac likes to make my Mobile Hotspot lock up a lot).
* [Worst One] I have quite a bit of free space on my data partition to install apps. I went to install a 49mb game from the Market and i get this Not enough free space on my Internal and SD Card to install. I UNinstalled more than 50MB worth of apps and still would not install, actually it force rebooted, then began the No Space thing again. So my buddy sent me the Titanium files of that app and it installed thru TB just fine. Ive installed a bunch of apps thru the market ranging from 1MB to 16MB and they installed fine. Since i had the 50MB game installed, an update came out that reduced the app size to 40MB. Tried to update and the Not enough free space issue came back again. So my buddy this time just sent me the updated APK file and i installed as regular and it installed no problem. So the issue seems to only happen with apps from being installed from the market verses apps being installed manually.
Non-Problems:
* I've had no problems with VenomSU granting pernissions, i actually really enjoy its look and feel, but i wanted to recommend adding a setting to check if the SU binary is up to date since theres no way to check it currently.
* Since I use a Pin Lock, I've had no negative Wi-Fi experience probably because of that.
All of those issues are so minor, but wanted the developers to know for future releases. Thank you for your kick ass work Team Venom. I'm a fan for life!
