Local Playback Question
I KNOW this has been asked and discussed multiple other times in other threads, but I am asking this just to piece together what has been said for my own knowledge.
Chromecast would play local video files with ease, rather than some .mkv files not having audio. I would just drag the file to a new tab and it could be casted. I could do this as of this morning. My Chromecast has been plugged in all day. Now, whenever I drag the file, it just downloads. I have seen this on the forums elsewhere.
Is this because of the update Google released that borked local playback in which they said local playback would come back soon? So by that do we assume local playback should be back by the next update? And what is the current, easiest, workaround for streaming local media?
Thanks to all.
