When ever I restart the browser all the history has gone i can have 10 pages open then restart, just the 1 page with Google is that normal

Why would ever page stay open if you exit the browser? Its not chrome (which keeps them open) . It did the same thing to me, but I never use stock browser's other than to see how they compare.

My suggestion is mercury and boat browser, both are better than all others in my opinion.
