just use motofail http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/11/rooting-the-droid-4-a-failed-bounty-experiment/I continue to get the following error:
ERROR: adb could not be granted root access via local.prop method
Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version of gingerbread -- hopefully you don`t have a version where this exploit was fixed.
did the system version change to 890?I tried to restore it to the stock version (MotoBlur 5.6.890 OTA from Verizon) using the instruction (because it was 5.7.xxx)
but it still shows the same error.
noMy phone is verizon's one but it`s already unlocked (unlocked by a code a few days ago) is this a problem?
usa gsm or other?Currently it works with my GSM network but I can`t get the Data/3G to work
Yes I checked and it changed to 890just use motofail http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/11/rooting-the-droid-4-a-failed-bounty-experiment/
did the system version change to 890?
i would suggest using a milestone 3 xml (firmware file) and moto-fastboot.exe. not sure where you will find the xml, the usual source (http://sbf.droid-developers.org/) is partially down.I searched to see if this had been asked on this thread before and couldn't find anything, but if it has I apologize.
Will this work for a XT861 Milestone 3? It is CDMA+GSM, but not Verizon.
I had it rooted with safestrap installed then I tried to factory reset from system settings. After the factory reset a "android process phone has quit" or something like that message would incessantly pop up. I tried to do a restore in safestrap and now the phone only bootloops. No safestrap. And it's the red Motorola logo with dual core text splash screen, not the animated system one.
If I had 5.7.906 how I can root my droid/ this method doesn't work.
The URL on the first post is no longer valid, does anyone know of working root software for Droid 3?
Never admit that in public. XD
