Camera

Hai,

I have a problem with camera in my x18i. Does this have autofocus? Autofocus is not working in my handset and because of that some camera app is not working properly. I am having 2.3.6 instaled. Any ideas??

Wifi with MrTB ROM V9

I was finally able to flash this ROM on my LT18i, but had to replace the boot image with the boot image from my original load. Everything works well except the Wifi. I can turn the Wifi on, and it sees the networks, but does not connect to any network (secure or unsecure). Has anyone seen this problem? If yes, have you found a solution?

I could not flash my Star Lt18i with lastest X18i ROM.
I follow iw4nk instruccions, but it didnt work. When i turn on the phone, the logo of android keeps blinking, and nothing more.
I put the 2.3.4 original Lt18i ROM again.
In any way, I learned a lot in the process, so thanks iw4nk.

Something interesting:
I delete a lot of sistem applications that I dont use, but two apparently useless for me, gave me an error "android.process.acore" when I go to Contacts. There are:
com.mediatek.SNSCommon (com.mediatek.SNSCommon)
com.mediatek.SnsContentProvider (com.mediatek.SnsContentProvider)

I could delete the widgets without problems.
com.mediatek.sns.widget (com.mediatek.sns.widget)
com.mediatek.sns.widget24 (com.mediatek.sns.widget24)

Required Star HD7000 Recovery

Dear friend, Some one give me recovery file Star HD7000 for flashing from SD CARD, Which is MTK6513 Chip has.

Mr.momofab gave recovery for x18i phone, that works fine for Star x18i, which has MTK6573 chip.

I need Recovery for HD7000, which has MTK6513 chip.

So my phone screwed up.
This is unrelated to root btw.
My sd card won't mount.
In storage section in the settings, it says to insert an sd card to mount, but there already is an sd card there.
My card was working since I got it and now it's not working anymore.
Any ideas?

nvm sd card got corrupted

Hi.

I'm having a hard time trying to root the x18i (Android 2.3.6).

I copied the ZIP file to the SD Card, but when trying to apply it using the "Android system recovery utility" (3e), option "apply update from sdcard", I get the following:

-- Install /sdcard ...
E:signature verification failed
Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Any ideas, howtos, links?

I am new and android's staff, but i have x18i mtk 6573 whit android 2.3.6, the ploblem i detect!? is no have auto focos camera and the flash ligh,he don't change (off/on) in the setting camera!!?? but i have the flashlight app and work OK!!?
Please, eny help!!

He.he.. Im forget to signed this file. But you can signed it. Check xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=22953298&postcount=50

(That instruction to Signed ROM or File).

Or if want simple you can change your recovery (check page 5) .

If this success. Please give me thanks :D
NOTE : original recovery (3e) can’t flash zip file. you must upgrade your recovery

Your Rom is original?? Or was change to custom Rom??? Its screenshot my phone system. It same with u?

Hi I want to buy a quad band cell phone, anyone can suggest X18i or X19i, X19i is cheaper but they use the same chip set

X18i is hot seller :D.
Batery x18i = 2000 mAh but HDC X19i only 1800 mAh.
Now X18i was updated to 2.3.6 (I don't know X19i).
Many forum is discuss about X18i.

So... X18i or X19i ...? d(^_^)b

1. Update your recovery with recoveryMOD for x18i.
2. Copy customROm (mrtb rom) to sdcard root (sdcard/here)
3. Go to recovery mode
4. Select update from sdcard and choose u Rom file
5. Wait..... and

Done.... d(^_^)b

My rom is Original, is the same model ansd specifications!. The problem of the flashlight it has fixed, the problems is the autofocus!?

    Overclock X18i

    Now, you can overclock x18i up to 800 mhz (default clock speed 650 mhz).
    On play market u can try mtk-test app. But, I have mtk-control (donate version) and if you want this app (mtk-control), click thanks for me and send PM. I will. Send download link for U. ;)

    I was share instruction step by step flashing Original Rom Here
    But, If you only want flashing RecoveryMOD to your phone (X18i). you must download
    1. Sp FlashTool Here
    2. RecoveryMOD For X18i Here
    Extract to desktop your PC
    Next
    1. turn off u phone and remove batery
    2. Open SP FlashTool
    select Option > checklist "USB MODE"
    3. Select Scatter-loading. will open new window popup.Go to where you extract RecoveryMOD Folder and open MT6573_scatters.txt
    4. Put u battery to phone
    5. Select Download on SP FlashTool
    6. If u see Time. Connect Usb Cable to Phone (Must Quickly)
    Wait .....
    And DONE.... Turn On U Phone

    thanks momofab, now i can flash my phone :D. i want share new custom rom for x18i from vness community.

    MrTB v5 ROM

    Changelog:
    - Android 2.3.6
    - Fix bug completely unable to connect to 3g sim sim contacts remaining. Now you surf the web without worry miss call.
    - Add boot function in the second 3g sim. With this function the 2 slots support 3g sim. You can completely change mount 2 sim 3g and connect with a simple click, no need to remove your sim change. This function is located in Settings -> Wireless and networking -> Mobile networks -> 3g Services -> 3g:
    + The default is sim slot 1 (the outermost slot), you can switch between two arbitrary sim slot.
    + If you select Off, 2 sim will only GSM status. This for anyone not using 3G, or when new users are turned off to help take the pin.
    - Update the latest app, update ad blocking hosts.
    - Fix the catalytic response, more app also dropped in the previous version (which can be related to an app that can not be DC and the system).
    - Do not have much time so the new version is just the frame, not the optimal lot, not beauty. Everything that you will be home next patch or ROM. Make sure if fully optimized, 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 stronger 5 more ^ ^!
