Hi there,

Do I understand from this, that being on an offical MJ3 firmware (just got it out of the shop), this De La Vega rooting method won't work?

I too am having problems. I had the URDLV scripts, in it's own directory

F:\URDLV

and placed the original firmware in a sub directory called input

F:\URDLV\INPUT

But it would fail when running the command and produce an 11KB file with the same file name but added "_CSC" to it.

So I moved everything from the URDLV directory to the root of the drive, including the firmware. I thought it was working until I was presented with this

What it has done that it didn't before, is it does seem to have extracted some files into the "TMP" directory, which it didn't before.

To be precise, is it relying on some dependencies that you have and I don't perhaps?

Looks like I messed something up.

***DELETED REPEATED STATEMENT/SCREENSHOT. Same error "OUT Of TUID_T Range" thats already posted by two users. Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

@designgears I started from MJ1 and made root with RDLV with your absolute first release.
Then I checked survival mode on supersu and then updated to MJ3. Does ota installed me new bootloader? Or will I update in future since I started from mj1 rooted?

I got the MI5 tar from Samobile put it at the root of my C drive, ran the URDLV Full command. Flashed the result(contains Ap andCSC) in the ap slot. Then followed the DLV method that got me root( had to reboot 2x). Then used Wanam Xposed to set system to official.
I wouldn't mind but I keep getting server error about maximum number of rollout updates.

Also I am about to release a new version that should account the problem in the pictures. Basically you have no group set, so it is producing that error.

Yep, full path definitely applied, tried typing it out as well as dragging the file into the command prompt window.

No difference.

Regarding the file path, I drag/dropped the file into the command window, as you suggested.

I will try the new version soon.

Still the same error message for me, with the 0.2 version. :-/

My protocole is the following :

==> results in error after 1-2 minutes of processing, as show in my previous screenshot.

I also tried with
URDLV.bat csc G:\N9005XXUBMJ3_N9005OXXBMJ3_XEF/N9005XXUBMJ3_N9005OXXBMJ3_N9005XXUBMJ2_HOME.tar.md5

==> which results in immediate error...

For me it worked verry well from BMJ1_XEH with Win8 pro, BMJ3_XEH, vers. 0.1 and wanam - Result: root and official.

OK so there is an Mi5 on Sam mobile. Now you were already on MI5 right.. but you couldn't change the status to normal right.. but now with the new Mi5 you were able to correct .. I also take it you have no yet been able to get the upgrade so we do not know yet if it works. Also would it be safe to say if one waits till the upgrade has a full file on sammobile one could theoretically just run the script on that and get both root and upgrade in one step. ..

That is correct I was stuck on custom. Now after using URDLV and wanam Xposed i'm knox 0x0 official. Correct again unable to get update. Its possible I guess but going by past history MJ4 tar won't be released by samobile until another update is released I fear.

M8 great you achieve it but can you tell me if you did any extra step? i mean SU to survival mode? or anything extra?

Im same as you but i am afraid if i loose the official because i have allshare cast dongle ... pls tell me if you did any extra step.

ah, i was not clear enough, i was on stock MJ1-XEH no root, nothing. I did not do any extra steps, only step by step from post#2.

Download cygwin and install it, leave all the settings as they are. After that installs run URDLV.

That error is from it not getting a user and group id. Installing cygwin will run mkpasswd.and mkgroup on first run and that should fix it.

If not, might be something else going on. I'll investigate further once I get to Cali.

    What is Universal Root de la Vega?
    It is simply a script to create Root de la Vega for any device that has the necessary hooks. In its current state, it should be considered beta, the code is still very messy and may not work in some cases.

    What devices are supported?
    Just about every Samsung device with KNOX! (Excluding Exynos based devices)
    Samsung has caught on and has started patching bootloaders, you can still root, but you will trip KNOX.
    If you are running MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2 or higher you can still root, but you will trip KNOX!

    How to find your AP / CSC (PDA) versions:
    Dial *#1234#

    Prerequisites
    Basic knowledge of how to use terminal and odin or heimdall (this is not a general support thread)
    Odin or Heimdall
    Firmware File (see next section)
    Linux: p7zip
    Windows: Cygwin

    How to find your stock firmware:
    Go to SamMobile and enter your device CSC in the in the black bar search field. (Free account required to download)
    If you cannot find it there, try Google, not my inbox
    After you have downloaded your firmware, make sure unzip it down to the odin tar/tar.md5/exe.

    Open a terminal to the directory containing URDLV.sh (not windows command prompt)

    6. Copy the contents of root_de_la_vega_sdcard.7z to the root of the internal storage

    Can I flash custom recovery/kernel without tripping KNOX flags?
    No.

    Will this set a tripped KNOX flag 0x1 back to 0x0?
    No.

    Will root survive a factory reset?
    Yes, it does.

    Do I need to fully wipe my phone when rooting?
    Not always, most cases it should be fine, but sometimes you get lots of forces closes, the only way to fix it is to flash your csc and let it wipe.

    Can I unroot?
    Yes, use SuperSU full unroot option or flash stock.

    I am getting Force Closes after flashing, how can I fix it?
    Make sure you are flashing the cache(csc) and system(ap) file!

    Prepare :
    1/ download the MK2 firmware and save it into c:\temp - and extract it to c:\temp\MK2_stock
    2/ download the URDLV script and extract it to c:\temp\Universal-RDLV_v0.5
    3/ Extract the file c:\temp\MK2_stock\N9005XXUDMK2_N9005OXXDMK3_N9005XXUDMJ7_HOME.tar.md5 to c:\temp\MK2_stock
    4/ MOVE the file c:\temp\MK2_stock\N9005XXUDMK2_N9005OXXDMK3_N9005XXUDMJ7_HOME.tar.md5 to c:\temp\Universal-RDLV_v0.5
    5/ delete the files c:\temp\MK2_stock\aboot.mbn AND c:\temp\MK2_stock\cache.img.ext4
    6/ Create a folder called output in the folder c:\temp\Universal-RDLV_v0.5

    In green is your computer name, in DarkOrange is the terminal current path ( = where you are currently located on your disk)

    Put your phone in download mode (vol down + home button + power button at the same time and then Vol up to confirm on screen instruction)

    Plug your phone through USB, ODIN detects it.
    In odin, put in the AP field, the file c:\temp\MK2_stock\MK2VEGA.tar.md5
    Click Start.

    When the phone reboots, in windows explorer, go to c:\temp\root_de_la_vega_sdcard and copy the folder root_files AND the file root_de_la_vega.sh to your phone.
    Reboot the phone.
    When it is started, delete the previously copied files from your phone.
    Reboot the phone.
