I believe the Sony VAIO group jumped into water leagues over their heads when they released the original Sony tablets. It is obvious that when it comes to Android-based products, they simply do not have the necessary talents. If the Sony Mobile group had instead released the STS, STP, and XTS, the tablets would not have so quickly seen end-of-life and piss-poor development and support. If there is any future for the STS, STP, and XTS, it is in the hands of the consumers, into which Sony VAIO should place a method to unlock the tablets' bootloader. I am, of course, not holding my breath for that to happen.
