Well we can be sure it will not be the same price of the HTC One X or the Samsung Galaxy SIII (when they were launched), as it is a niche product and to maximise sales they have to reduce the price. The One X currently is around £360, and the Samsung is £380 (just did a quick amazon.co.uk search). Now based on the amount of time that has passed since the launches of those phones and their popularity, I expect the Nexus to be priced just around this price bracket ie £350-400 at launch. £300 I think is pushing it based on specs, although if it goes for £300 that will be brilliant.

Lots of wishful thinking price-wise 'round here - I figure it is pretty silly to expect that LGNex would be priced below Optimus 4X, otherwise, what would be the point for the LG to sell obviously superior product for less. Seeing that current going rate for Optimus 4X is $400/£300 (Depending on country), don't expect any less. That said, I'm going to buy it anyways.

We do not actually. No rumours have confirmed the storage space or battery 100%.
Actually they were pretty confirmed by.....http://thenextweb.com/google/2012/1...-announce-at-its-android-event-on-october-29/
Pertinent part....
Earlier this week, we posted details on the next Nexus smartphone, which will be manufactured by LG. We have been informed that earlier leaks have been 100 percent correct.

This means that Google will launch the LG Nexus 4, featuring a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (and 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper) and a 2100mAh battery

Well unfortunately for ya'll, it looks like 32GB Nexii don't sell. Verizon is no longer selling theirs, and that would also be my guess as to why the GSM 32 was canceled.

This is the thing though:
As music and video gets easier to get and higher quality, it's getting bigger files and people are demanding more storage. They're offering 64gb to some phones now, that's a ton of video. The sales of higher memory devices are only going to rise, even if they're quite low right now

Too cheap. I want 32gb not a cheap crippled device.

Guys, Nexus devices are for development not for media and gaming and movies and songs. That is why they are not marketed like crazy like the Galaxy S3. In fact, if what you want is media, just buy an S3

Exactly. Nexus devices aren't really even consumer level devices. They're more for developers and people who know about Android. Show a person who doesn't know anything about phones a Nexus and a Galaxy S3, they're probably going to pick the S3.

Must be why Nexus 7s can be found at Walmarts, Gamestops, Staples, even Sears in California after a quick local search.

So I guess the nexus 7, 10 and q are development devices and we should get the lowly competition with more storage? Finally get a nexus with some horsepower to get excited about and the cheapskates want the price and features as low as possible. :banghead:

I do not think the "it's a developer phone" line really applies anymore. As the UI of stock Android continues to become more polished it is easy to see how it will appeal to more consumers. The Nexus 7, which did have a marketing campaign,is already sold through a multitude of channels. I read recently that the N7 is the highest selling Android tablet in the UK. That is not the sales strategy for a developer type device. Sure the N7 didn't have the marketing budget of say Samsung and the S3, but Google is trying to get into the game. The N4 on the other hand will be one of the highest spec'd phones to be released this holiday season and I am sure there will be some type of Marketing surrounding it's launch. I hope that there are higher storage options and I really hope that there is an LTE version but I will reserve judgement until I hear the announcement. If they miss on the storage and LTE then it will be up to me to come to terms with their decisions and either buy it anyway or look elsewhere for a device that meets my needs.

Now, having said all that, if they don't announce an LTE device or one with more storage next week and I buy it anyway only to find out in a months time that these spec'd devices are coming, I will go through the roof. Even if they don't know when they are launching they had better inform us next week that they are coming.

Soooo true man!

Thats why there was a nexus 7 commercial with a man that was playing with his son inside a tent, i guess they were just two android devs writing an app..

You should resign with all this nexus is for programmers and google geeks bull**** cause its obvious that nowadays it's an alternative for users that are seeking pure google experience with the best performance/price rate.

Remember that google is more than just a device, its the whole android system and its services such as maps, google plus, google voice, google mail, and last but not least android market (it gives them direct income throught fees), thats why they are making devices with nearly no profit (30$ per 8gb nexus 7) from it.

Next i want to say is.. stop complaining about the non-removable battery, the life cycle is about two years, so there will be at least one new nexus device, and a new contract with your operator.
So ask yourself:
If you were a producer, would you want your client to change his battery or a whole phone for a new one?

The second problem is storage, a lot of smart people summed up that a common user doesn't need more than 16gb of capacity, and its commonly known that sd cards are slowing down your device. The last thing google wants is a bunch of n00bs complaining over the web about their "slow" phone just because they bought an 0,25$ 8gb sd card and filled it up with porn. Even if they are making a 32gb version the 16gb phone would sell way better. Thats why they are offering you google drive, im from europe but i've read that there were a lot of "unlimited internet" contracts over the us, so cloud storage is as good as more space.

Can't wait till the LG Nexus announcment, i am checking the web at least once a day for some news! Am I google sick or is it common?

Following this thread is great except for the fact there's probably no new news coming out any time soon. Monday cannot come any sooner :/ I really wish they force AT&T to pick it up but knowing AT&T they would rather burn than not put their AT&T navigation app inside the phone -_-.

I can't believe the silly negativity towards this device here and the various android blogs. The device shown is still a prototype, and as such, was not meant to be seen by the general public. Stop drawing conclusions and vilifying what will theoretically be the best android device out on pure specs alone. You do realize that this is the first time since the Nexus One that a nexus device has had absolutely top of the line specs running pure Android, right? Isn't that quintessentially what the nexus program is about? Quit whining about SD card slots when you know the exact reason Google is moving away from them since 2010, for god sakes. Need more storage? Go buy another android phone, there are some excellent choices like the Optimus G, the GSIII, RAZR HD Maxx, and the OneX+, all from different manufacturers who bring their own sensibilities. But, be prepared to pay upwards of $550 for them if you want it unlocked, unlike buying straight from Google. Seriously, how do you ignore the fact that it has a Quad Core S4 Pro (the fastest SoC currently made available to OEMs), 2GB of RAM, and a 4.7in IPS LCD (non-pentile) display? And if the Optimus G serves as inspiration, we will see a 2100mAh battery as well. At least wait till the official announcement before forming an opinion on something, and take everything you have seen so far with a grain of salt.

8GB! I hope this is only for the prototype. If Google launch with an 8GB option with no expandable storage it will be way too small. They can shove the cloud up their ass.

I know there will be a 16GB model too, but they really need a 32GB option as well. Cloud storage is still in its infancy, and not everyone has access to LTE yet.

Can you please post a general video of the hardware and software onboard.

    Thanks.

Yeah a video would be great. 720p please :)

Ok, I'll try to make it tomorrow. It's 2:14 am now and i'm going to sleep=)
