Scheduler for listening to music?

So my ipod died and I'm forced to use my g2x as a music player now. I'm using poweramp which is awesome, but it seems my phone can't keep up with music and anything else. If I hit the screen shut off button I get a little crackle, if I get a text I get another, and sometimes it just goes on its own (something in the background running up the processor). I switched from cfq scheduler to noop and it's helped a bit, but I'm curious if anyone else listens to music on it and knows which scheduler offers the best playback?

I'm using Mokee (latest version) with the stock CM kernel (any other kernel gives me bsods and wake locks).

I'll be testing these out over the course of this week, too, but I figured some opinions couldn't hurt.
