Well.. not all into outer space, made it to near space up to 101,001 feet. Sent my Epic (running Mammon's Bonsai DK28 rom, btw :) ) along with a Moto Backflip for video recording, still photos, and GPS data logging, up in a high altitude weather balloon (along with a Geocache) from North Carolina, USA Saturday morning around 933AM EST, It traveled about 124 miles away, reached a max altitude of 101k feet whereupon the balloon burst and landed safely via parachute around 1148AM. Got some pics uploading if anyone wanted to see them over at: gaia.terrasunder.org
I think my Epic is pretty damn EPIC now :) So.. what did you do with your Epic this past weekend?

(unfortunately it was an extremely cloudy day with some rain, sleet and then snow later on so all we have is curvature pics with clouds, but still cool nonetheless)

The Epic was set to take 720p videos in segments every few minutes (will be uploading them to our website later after we've rotated the vids) and then took 3MP pics in between (a number of which are already in the gallery area). Because it was a cloudy day the pics we had weren't all spectacular (lots of cloud pics) but they still convey alot of the trip. The Moto Backflip (another android) that went along for the ride took still shots every 10 secs in addition to logging all GPS data for more precise tracking after recovered.

I watched my 17 year old daughter's 18 year old hot friend play Dance Central with the Kinect...no pictures but the view was very nice.

This was done with an iphone too a couple months ago.

Nice project

Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App

Yeah, that's what actually gave our team lead the idea in the first place. He ended up telling me and we jumped at making it happen (it was the dual purpose of just being able to say we sent something into space and our geocaching hobby). That i-phone video made it look so simple. Come to find out there's alot more involved, but still worth the effort. :)

Yep. It did. Along with a ton of videos. For those "prove it" folks, you can look through the EXIF data on the photos in the picasa gallery on the site. ;)
