Hi. Testing this ROM.. 1st off.. great ROM!

But I do face some prob at the moment:

1 stock browser FC when trying to download files (noticed some is facing this issue as well)
2 alliance ROM ota and rom custimizer FC

So far, everything is ok except the above..

Can anyone help :)

I can confirm the FC trying to download, but have no problems using Alliance programs.

2. Did you wipe after install? Just install the apps from play store

Hi. I reflashed the whole ROM. OTA and ROM customizer seems to b working fine now. Thx guys..

Yup...in sammy apps is SecOmaDownloadProvider, that might have something to do with it...

Hello all!

First of all: GREAT ROM! I've read every review and everything is positive and this ROM may be the only reason to root my Galaxy Note 2. But before I do that, I got some questions and I would be very thankful if you answer them for me:

1. Can I flash this with TWRP recovery and if "yes" will I get some options when installing like what to install with the ROM (Samsung apps..) ?

2. Can I somehow stay with the stock TouchWiz settings and notification center ?

1. If you use TWRP you won't be able to customize the installation, meaning everything will be installed (samsung apps, kernel, radio ...). You can always grab ROM Customizer from the Play Store and use to install.

2. I'm not sure, but I would say no since I didn't see any option concerning this matter. The notification center is equally as functional as Samsung's if not more.
I've had 2 worries about it but they were cleared reading what others had posted :
- the clear button is still there (upper right corner) to clear all notifications at once.
- the swipe to expand is available too, albeit the gesture changed a bit; instead of swiping with two fingers down you have to swipe like you're trying to zoom in.

Thanks! Do I have to have a custom recovery for installing this ROM tho? Otherwise, how would I wipe cache and all that other stuff?

Yes, stock recovery won't do.

Wiping can be done when launching the installation trough ROM Customizer too. Or the usual way in a custom recovery.

If you're rooted and still have stock recovery I'd suggest getting TWRP as it is really easy to grasp for a new user, and flashing it through Mobile Odin or Odin for PC

Thanks again! I'm rooted now but I don't have custom recovery. I'll install TWRP thru GooManager and flash AllianceROM after.

Since we have 4 way auto-rotation, I borrowed a TW launcher from the same base (MA6) that has it enabled. If anyone is interested just make a backup of your SecLauncher2.apk and flash this.

EDIT: comnam90 has determined this file was not from an MA6 base but from an LL5 and he made us one available in the OTA app. I removed the attachment.

TBH, I don't have a problem, it's just good to recognise the dev:) but if the dev has an issue, then obviously we'll remove it ;)

I've looked at this and seem's the dev that used this didn't bother actually updating to DMA6 as this apk file is actually from DLL5. So I've instead modded the SecLauncher2.apk included in my rom and am about to upload it to OTA for everyone instead :D

    Although this firmware is DME6 it does not contain the kernel or modem that come with it. These have been replace by older versions to avoid loss of imei when rolling back to older firmware.

    If you are already on dme6/dmf2/dmg1 etc install with Rom Customizer and unselect install with kernel and install with modem. This will stop you from having imei loss...
    If on dmc3/dme1 or older install everything...

    FOR ALL USERS:

    BEFORE FLASHING CARRY OUT TWRP AND EFS BACK UPS AND STORE THEM SOMEWHERE SAFE!!

    Also, you must wipe on install to enable new mods, no wipe = no work = no support ;)

    DONT IGNORE CHECKING THE CHECKSUM , JUST DO IT !!


    HOW TO FLASH V4?

    Flash via ROM-Customizer coming from any rooted ROM:

    1. Put the ROM on your internal storage
    2. Open ROM Customizer and choose flash file from SD
    3. Ficeto improved the flash config so it works with rom Customizer now. So just choose the ROM from your internal storage and it will present you with the rom config in a pop up window .

    If you are on dme6 / dmf2 / dmg1 untick kernel and modem.
    This will stop you from having imei loss...

    If on dmc3/dme1 or older you can install with kernel and modem.
    4. Make sure you WIPE when installing or ZTE/Teardrop lock will not work......remember to back up first

    Guys, after much delay v3.1 should be up tomorrow or the day after...

    Various ota zips for toggles, signals etc will be following....but, I do agree with NunHugger, some of you guys are more than capable to have a go ;)
