Oh yeah, I use the Xposed framework and MoDaCo's Tookit to solve that issue. Here is hope its not present in 4.2.2.

If it is you might see a grown man cry and that ain't a pretty sight lol

My only concern about rooting and going to 4.2.2 that way would be if anything goes wrong would it still be possible to downgrade by using the main ver hack on the toolkit as I have previously done.

Is it actually solved in the official update by htc? Or just custom roms

Sent from my HTC One using xda premium

Not sure what you mean, but.

The "three dot menu bar" that is present in the current version of Facebook is Facebook's fault for not implementing/following Google's design guidelines.
The new 4.2.2 will (hopefully) fix this by mapping "holding back-button" so it becomes a menu button. That will eliminate the need for the "three dot menu bar" as the Facebook app (and many others) will see the device as a device that has it's own hardware back button.

Almost looks like according to the dev's it's now long press home for menu.

With custom roms, as you are not updating hboot, you wont have to use the mainver hack, just downgrade to another older custom rom. Only with the WWE RUU, will you have to use the mainver hack.

Should of said I downgraded from 1.29.401.16 (from mike1986) to stock 1.28.401.17 with the main ver hack to get the ota back to 1.29.401.12.

Have you got stock CID HTC__001, when the 4.2.2 is officially released, I will restore back to stock and flash stock HTC 4.2.2, as I will want the updated hboot and radio. Pain in the arse having to relock bootloader and reflash recovery etc.

There does seem to be yeah, but the custom roms don't and wont include it. Updating the radio without official RUU matching your CID is a bit difficult with out S-off. It can be done, but I don't think it can be done through recovery.

wish we could be able to set it the opposite way, I mean longpress home button for home, and normal press home button for menu

because everyone uses the menu button more often than the home button, and I suspect the delay to be annoying, don't know how it is with custom roms now, I don't have the device yet but, I really miss the dedicated menu button (hardware button)

Ok enough is enough. Look this is a development forum. Not some play ground for people to argue about updates to an almost dead device. IF you got the update then cool. IF not then either wait for it or flash one of the zips floating around.

I dont want to have to close this thread but if the childish bickering back and forth then I will close it.

Hey guys, let me step in here and clear up some things.

    1. As much as you may be excited about letting us know you have updated. Don't.
    • If you must say thanks, simply click the thanks button of the OP or the post that helped you, and move on.

    2. Keep all discussion in this thread on topic and helpful.
    • All post should add value to this thread and be helpful to the rest of the community in some way.

    3. Finally, if you are from a different site, don't be coming on XDA telling people they better mention your site.
    • XDA is not the place to advertise your site. Any posts of this nature will be considered as spam and will be removed.

Sorry for the interruption. Carry on :)
