Question Unlock HTC Vivid With Code From IMEI

I see there are lots of websites where you send in your IMEI and they send you a code number. You stick in a SIM from a different company, slide the circle up to the message, type in the code, and the phone is unlocked.

I assume these sites are using a program to generate this unlock code number from the IMEI right? If so, what is that program called and where can it be downloaded from? I don't really want to send my IMEI to some place I don't know and cannot trust.

Thanks in advance!

that is no program, those vendors have means to obtain the codes.

If you want to remove sim lock, S-OFF you phone and there is a link in the forum to remove the sim lock

there is no software like jngtt said. All website offering this service go via a handful of people who have high level service level access with HTC. They can access the database from HTC where all these unlock codes are stored based on the IMEI.

HTC unlock by IMEI is not free and I don't think it won't be but it is pretty damn cheap. Check out this offer:

Default Re: Unlock HTC Vivid With Code From IMEI

Why pay for it, there's a method on this site, just search

sent from my HTC Raider from XDA Premium.

Current Phones-
HTC Raider. Stock, debloated, rooted, s-off, sim unlocked.
Sony Xperia Play- Stock, debloated, rooted, s-off, sim locked

Past Phones-
HTC Incredible S. Stock,debloated,rooted, s-off, sim unlocked.
HTC HD7. Sim unlocked. That's all I felt was worth doing honestly.

Love me some HTC
