Default Heartbeat not working

Hi,

I started getting delayed notifications on 3G recently (about a couple of weeks ago). I would turn on the screen, and then the notifications would arrive (the reception icon would show the H/3G icon, but would go gray for a few moments). I assumed that the problem is probably with my carrier. Since then, I tried talking to the carrier, switching to an RC of CM10.1 (I'm usually on nightlies), as well as using a different kernel. The problem persists.

I stumbled upon this app today, and after installing and using it didn't help, I went into logcat to investigate. This app indeed sets the heartbeat interval properly, and from time to time checks to see that it's still set to 5 minutes. However, the interval alarm stops working after a while! I can see (in logcat) that after a while GtalkDiag says that the heartbeat interval is 05:00 minutes, the type is cell, but an alarm is not set. After that point, nothing happens, every now and then I get a message from PNF on logcat that the hearbeat interval is still set to 5 minutes, and that's it. 5, 10, 15 minutes later, there's no heartbeat. I get nothing from GtalkDiag.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening? I'm going to install the latest CM10.1 nightly meanwhile, to see if that helps...

Hi, If you get notifications as soon as you unlock the screen, it mean that during the screen was off there was no connection..this can't be solved with my app..its some problem with ur rom and deep sleep

Yeah, I assumed so, but that's weird, since no-one else is complaining about that in the CM threads (and as I said, I tried both different versions - a couple of nightlies and RC, as well as different kernels...).
