Hi, i am kind of a noob at mobile os so please bare with me. My phone randomly through out the day reboots on its own, when im trying to use most apps after some time they force close, and some times the phone just stays frozen until i have to remove the battery to restart it. Im looking for any help i tried dealing with this for months but its getting tiresome. My phone came S-OFF and i rooted it i am currently using the "wwe" rom i believe, it has happened in all 4 or 5 roms i have used. please help.

Did you do a full wipe before flashing? And are you using a compatible recovery?

Your best bet is to flash that mod twrp. If it fails,I suggest u flash that ruu

---------- Post added at 02:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:03 AM ----------

What I mean is...flash that recovery then reflash your ROM. If u still get reboots, just flash that ruu...I don't think a certain recovery will interfere with flashing an ruu

Or this.. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1800630

But your bootloader must be locked. You will have to unlock bootloader again after running this ruu..this ruu can be ran if all other things have failed. Its kind of like a factory reset to make your phone start all over

Symptoms:
-Unable to boot into recovery/bootloader
-Force closes system app or installed apps
-Stored settings changes on reboots
-Random reboots while phone is idle
-Constant reboots while restarting it and doesn't know when it will boot normally.

All above mention symptoms are related to HARDWARE FAILURE! Bare in mind that not all of them you'll see it on your device. But any of one you face, will might probably having chance of hardware failure.

You or here on xda users can't resolve your issue. So don't try anything from now on wards. Use it as is. Or sell it and move to another device.

Unless you have some local cheap repair shops where they might evaluate the issue then fix it that way, rather than calling into HTC service center.

And i forgot to mention, you probably have question in mind, How i know? My device is dying too. It reboots constantly before it boots normally, though it works fine. So symptom may vary device to device but cause is the same.

I told you. Run the 3.20 ruu. It might help.

Nope,it won't help. As long as device has root with access it can do anything with it. Running Stock RUU practically loose every hope.

Best advice dont run RUU! Unless you have another device and then giva a try. But if ran RUU then it will hang on White Screen with green HTC logo.

    Choice is yours,period.

Why would that be a bad thing? Running an run can help restore his device. He could always reroot it

Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

Because eventually he'll loose ROOT access to his device and permanently hang on bootloop. I've been advised the same to restore your device you should run RUU and gets rooted again. Now why i'm saying this because I think this guy has a same issue as mine just different scenario.

You may check here,in past couple of months, many device hanged automatically till death for some reason. Luckily my device yet functional because i haven't ran RUU. That's why i advice him not to run RUU, because first he can't go to recovery and changing recovery didn't help him much. So best advice would stay on whatever ROM he's using currently because there is no other option then fix hardware issue with software way.

No. U have to lock the bootloader to run a ruu..system needs to use its partitions.

---------- Post added at 11:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 AM ----------

And u DON'T HAVE TO unlock the BL. It's just easier to install ROMs...if u have a locked bootloader,u will have to flash the boot.img via fastboot. Having an unlocked BL makes it more conventional to flash ROMs. That easy u can flash via recovery only instead of flashing ROM itself via recovery and its boot.img via fastboot. Its just a convenience factor.

Having s off makes things much easier. Having s off enables u to have root access inside ROMs. U won't lose s off when flashing ROMs nor ruus. That's the beauty of having s off
