Same errors I'm getting on the GN. I'm going to try an image from this thread tonight instead of the one downloaded through the app and see if that helps.

That screenshot was using the script from the app, but I tried v5 from here (Assuming v4 was same as app) and got a little bit different output, but same result.

Ok new paid app has been uploaded the change log is:
*PAID app file downloads now use new fast FTP server and support direct downloading (click the button to download a image and it starts to download right away)
*New boot script which has fixed problems with it not booting on alot of devices, and fixed problem which some people getting a grey screen when loading UI
*Boot script now downloaded in zip file to fix problems with downloading script
*Both apps fixed to support low resolutions
*Both apps cleaned up
Because the FTP server costs me money to run these fast download links will only be available in the paid app, as I will only be uploading the 800x480 images to multiupload in the future the images in the first post will stay at V4 (apart from the 800x480) thus if you have a device that has a different screen rez and what to keep up to date with image updates now is a good time to invest in the paid app

The paid app will also be getting alot more work in the close future to make the install process even easier (to hopefully the point of just downloading and pressing a button to boot) some of which will likely not make it to the free version, I am doing this to try and give the paid version more 'buying appeal'...I am after all a poor student and need money to eat and drink

Works on HTC Flyer WiFi 16gb running LeeDroid honeycomb. Using V5 script and light weight image 1024x600.
First of all, let me say thank you for all your hard work on this. Works perfectly on my Inspire 4G, running CM7.1 with stock CM kernel.
I do get a few errors in the terminal when running the script, both to start Ubuntu, and exit. They reguard file directories either not existing or being in use. Everything seems to work fine, and it does seem to exit Ubuntu upon the exit command, despite the error message.
What I was wondering though, is where are the Ubuntu files stored on the phone/sd card? I am able to see all of the phone, and sd card files through the Ubuntu file manager, but am unable to find anything reguarding Ubuntu in my file system through Root Explorer.

Tried it on my HTC glacier, running the absolution(rom),tdj darkside 12 cm (kernel), everything ran perfectly.

when the image is mounted the ubuntu files can be viewed at /data/local/mnt
Hey guy's i want to try this out. If once it installed on device how to remove it from the system or it will replace my current rom.

Ubuntu runs on top of android, and so dosn't replace your rom to exit ubuntu you can just press the home button and to shut it down you type exit in terminal

is it possible for a mdpi version??
The app will run on mdpi screens and the images will run, but you will have to scroll about ie the image will be bigger than the screen. Mdpi is to small for a image on its own as nothing would fit on the screen.
Also most mdpi phones have not much ram and slower processors so this may well be very Laguna to use, but by all means give it a try

I have working on a project in the form of an app, which guides you through the installation of Ubuntu within android via chroot. It includes a ubuntu 10.10 image I have been working on which includes lots of program to allow users to develop program/scripts etc within Ubuntu on there phone/tablet.
However I have I have yet to get much testing on this device and would like more feedback from users!
Please post your device/kernel/rom along with what did and didn't work, so I can draw up what I need to change in the next release of the app/ubuntu build.

This image is 1.5GB to download, once extracted 3.5GB, and include alot of programs like openoffice, thunderbird, firefox and over programs for 'developing' - Also allows you to switch between the LXDE and Gnome desktops, and you can define screen size on boot!

I have now started work on building new 12.04 images these come in core (just the bear-bones ubuntu) and full (ubuntu with GUI and other programs) and will be updated as 12.04 moves through its milestones (and when I make new updates to the mods I make from the main stream arm port).
These are for testing ONLY until 12.04 reaches stable release.

I will have to boot my ubuntu machine to check this drop me a email so I dont forget and I will do it in the morning for you
I have been playing with Unity but there are alot of problems with getting it running over vnc on android, basiclly no icons load which is quick a big issue I am continuing to try to work on this and had hoped that the full image on final release from beta would feature unity but time will have to tell

This is a guide to running a full ubuntu image within android, the guide includes links to everything you need etc, I have been working on the ubuntu image and guide for some time in the forums of devices I have so now want to expand to all android devices that can support it.
Does the HP touch pad have android/a android port? If so its quite possible this would work
