[Q] No "open wifi network available" notification?
Hello, I have a strange problem on my phone. We own two of these phones, and the problem is only present on mine. I am using a Huawei U8650 with Benru89's version 4 custom ROM, Gingerbread 2.3.7. The problem I am having is that my wifi doesn't seem to scan for open networks, and I never get notifications that there are open networks available. I have notifications enabled. When I leave my home and return, my wifi doesn't automatically reconnect either, I have to disable my wifi completely, then re-enable it for it to connect. I believe it has something to do with software, perhaps remnant settings of past apps I had on the phone and/or there is a corrupt system file that manages wifi settings that I need to delete. I already deleted the file that contained all my saved network data, and no change. However, upon deleting Google Hangouts from my phone I have seen an improvement in my wifi performance. It always stays connected when I'm at home now and my weather widget updates normally again, and didn't before I removed it, hence my suspicious this has something to do with a previous app that I installed and removed. I've already cleared app caches in the past with no luck, as well as the caches I can access in the recovery menu.
So, my questions. Are there any specific locations in my file system I should check for remnants of past installations, and also, are there any files related to wifi that I can safely delete in order to purge my wifi of all settings, and start fresh? Thanks!
