Default Wire Buttons to a Common Ground

Hey man,
Here's something Ben Heck told me (via video series...) is that he uses a 'common ground' on his buttons. Basically, instead of wiring all of the positive and all of the negative to the buttons and then to the boards; he wires just the positives to the buttons and the contacts on the board. Then the negatives get wired together to one of the negative locations. Then, I would make a simple switch to 'cut' the negative wire temporarily for a 'hardware hold button' like on the ipod A simple 'hold button' on the side, and it no longer turns on the screen

Worth a shot

I can send you a picture if you need it. Or if you've figured out the screen on bit.
