Well , I dropped my Xperia U in water 2 days back . I immediately took out everything and let it dry . The next day I powered it up , it booted but with VERTICAL RED LINES on the screen wherever there is a bright/white spot . The touch is working , everything is fine only the screen is showing these red lines . If I use it more than 10 mins , it's screen goes blank though the touch still works , but nothing is displayed on the screen .

Anyone knows what should I do ?

I have attached some images displaying those red lines !

Or try to give it a dive in specialist alcohol, forgot the name. Then maybe put it into the fridge :p

That's due to build up of salts on in the LCD. As soon as you removed the battery you should have washed it in distilled water. But probably too late now.

Find a disassembly manual, open up everything. Wash the board and connectors with distilled or desalinized water. Don't wash battery. Dry with a fan (not hot) and then assemble again.
If there are still issues you can either try to buy another lcd from ebay or whatever or sell it off and buy a new one.

Also trying to replace the water pad and sending it to repair is another option (water pad turns red when phone is wet. Techs won't service it if it is red. Also warranty is void if red. New ones on ebay o
r whatever)
