Hello,
I have CWM installed.
I installed smoothrom by sideload (because my device inencrypted).
I did a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik).
When I boot the rom I have a coinstant pop-up "system UI stopped" so I can't even use the device because when I click "ok" on the popup, it just pops up again...
Any idea?
Thanks

Make sure to wipe absolutely everything including /system and /sdcard just to be sure, Obviously back up your data first! Also check that the SmoothROM zip hasn't been corrupted at all! :)

I did wipe everything. But I can't wipe sdcard since it is not available in CWM (because the device is encrypted...).
I will do some more tries...

#1 is it possible to change the colour of the soft keys? The AOKP ROM I was previously using had this option...
#2 is it possible to add an option to change the font of the time and date on the lock screen? Specifically the date because I think it looks awful! Sorry to those who like it :p

Yes I will try that.
is it possible to unencrypt the device from recovery or with adb?

Also in the first post it is specified to say No if CWM wants to deny flashing of original recovery. But I said yes weeks ago and now I only have CWM. How can I flash back stock recovery?

It is old time, it doesn't apply anymore. Before it was overriding the recovery but not anymore

Hi All,
i am stuck at very annoying point during flashing.
I am new with Nexus 7 flashing procedure but have some idea about flashing and using fastboot.
Ok now as recommanded i used this tool
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=31931117#post31931117
to remove the crap from nexus 7 and i am stuck at last part of it (Upload my Rom to /sdcard) i get error "no device found in ADB/Recovery)
all other steps were just fine now i am stuck with a tablet with no operating system to boot and copy rom file to internal memory (cos this tool deleted every thing from internal memory.
I know how to use fastboot and fastboot can detect my tablet i just to know how can i copy rom files to tablet (recovery wont let me mount the sdcard)
any suggestions ?

This ROM is my favorite, super smooth! Been a fan ever since I got my nexus 7.

But why is it that it takes so long to fully charge? Other ROMs I can get a full charge in about 2 hours but this ROM takes like 4-6 hours. It won't even charge (well barely) if I use the tablet while it's plugged in.. (I only charge via AC adapter) is anyone else experiencing this?

if you have trwp recovery go to file mgr under advanced you can use otg with flash drive and your rom copied there choose install. Been there several times.
Can you please explain the process step by step,
I have flashed and booted the TWRP v2.3.3.0
i can access all of its features but when i connect to pc no drive shoes (driver says bad driver) but fastboot works just fine.
I have used Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.1 to install drivers (raw) and i am using windows 8 x64 :(

---------- Post added at 09:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:04 PM ----------

or reflash stock rom with wug's nexus toolkit.. It might be just faster..

I am thinking to do this as last step, just wanted to know more about my tablet :)

so I guess when driver says that is an error, there is an error.. did you try to push file via adb sideload <filename> /data/media while in twrp>advanced>ADB sideload?

Hi!
I have a little problem?
In perfomance options, I set maximum processor speed to 1500.
At the beggining ok, but a few minutes later it goes down again to 1300.
Any tip?

Just flashed this rom.

When in settings the menu doesn't fit into the screen fully. It runs off the right edge of the screen. Is there a setting for this?

Also is NOVA the only launcher? Is there a stock launcher? I installed the tablet UI...not sure if I like it but I'll give it a few days before I make a decision.

quick pulldown isn't working either??

edit: is there a way to switch back and forth between tablet UI and standard UI?

You need to be in recovery to upload the rom ;)

    Installation

If CWM ask you to 'Disable Recovery Flash' after install, select no ! It will remove the files needed for the init.d support.

Please do not restore a 'system' data backup as it would overwritte some important files

    Easy Way

    • Use JROMFlasher (Click here) to wipe your data, flash custom recovery, upload my ROM

    Hard Way

    • Require Custom Recovery
    • Copy the ROM to the root of your SDCard (/sdcard).
      - You can copy/paste it from Windows Explorer.
      - You can download the ROM from your device. It will be generally located in /sdcard/downloads
      - You can use ADB : 'adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/' for Windows and Mac/Linux : './adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/'
    • Boot into Recovery
    • Wipe all cache and userdata
    • Flash the ROM from custom Recovery
