Hey, OpenVPN can be enabled by adding the "tun.ko" module, sakindia123 posted it in this forum so search for it

odin stuck at partition.bin download

first off thanks for your efforts you made.

i am trying to install your custom rom;

to be clear:
i have downloaded the "all in one package" with odin 4.43, your rom(broodROMRC3_r2) (ect)
i did a hard reset on my phone by dialing in *2767*3855#
after that i followed this very tutorial, but odin got stuck at partition.bin download..

after a while i disconnected the cable (i was at school and my class had finished so about 1 hour passed)
i try'd starting my phone but i got the semi-bricked screen (Black Screen of Death)

i have try'd flashing my i9001 a couple times now but odin always get stuck at partition.bin download..

i could not find anyone with the same problem nor with a solution, and was hoping some one could help me

If you still have the black screeen of death follow this tutorial:

but then choose broodROM RC3 Revision 2 as rom instead of the stock ones, you could also try to redownload the file maybe its not 100% complete, and are you sure your security software isn't blocking it?

yes is did found your tutorial for the the semi-brick problem...

i don't have any security software anyhow i will try to reboot and close every other program i have running(skype, ect.) and then do every step again...

maybe that it is a port conflict or another stupid problem

I want to release it badly but I still have 2 problems, the extended status bar/boot logo needs to be fixed before i can release it

Hmm ill take a look at the captha. you can also try an other usb port. if it hangs again do this:

1. leave usb cable in, pull battery out
2. turn off phone
3. unplug usb cable
4. put battery in
5. start in download mode
6. put usb cable in
7. restart odin and reflash

programs like skype have no effect also the windows firewall disabled but had noting to do with the problem

going to try:
you can also try an other usb port. if it hangs again do this:

1. leave usb cable in, pull battery out
2. turn off phone
3. unplug usb cable
4. put battery in
5. start in download mode
6. put usb cable in
7. restart odin and reflash

i try'd:
another usb port on my laptop;
the steps your provided
and try'd odin on my pc but still no luck

i have removed my sd card + simcard

non of the methods are working for me

Try all of your computer's usb ports. I had the same issue the first time i flashed my phone. I had to try 5 usb ports until i made it.

and it did give kind of another result:

can you try it on a other computer?

or try this. flash feamod 1.2 odin package and then boot in recovery. Format all partitions and try to flash broodrom again.

right now i can't come in the recovery mode it alwas gives me this error:

Busybox is not important atm. have you tried flashing feamod a couple of times?

no this is the first time i try to install feamod but the same thing happens:

Hmm, that's the only odin for i9001. but it should download those files to your mobile without any trouble. odin is actually the only solution when it's in bsod, you could go to the store and say samsung kies bricked your phone when updating the firmware. (it happens every day so it's not strange to say) I think they can fix it for sure.

But it's still kind of strange because this problem isn't common at all. i recommend you to try it a few more times with the battery pull trick. Also try it at a friend or school/work or so if you are able to. If it doesn't work on all computers it's probably your phone then you need to go to the store probably

yep. you can but you need to be sure it's XXKPS/XXKPU or XXKQ1 and also it needs to be deodexed
