Have you opened this link to see?
It is not one file only. There are all the SBF for all DEFY (+).

So which one for step 2 ?

The link has changed due to site maintenance. Just replace the "sbf.droid" with "sbfdownload.droid" and you're god to go. No need to navigate to the entire filesystem.

PS: It says so on the redirect page too if you noticed.

The other thread is just a copy of dev section threads. Links are the same as these.

Do you guys know if the Root Rom or ended Stock Rom has got call.rec.libs natively or I have to install them after ROOT in order to enable a call recording?
That is the purpose for me to ROOT in first place and only for.

The rooted ROM don't have those libs. You need to install those manually if you want.

Links not working

Please help - I've bricked my Defy plus and wanted to try and get it back working following the instructions here but the download links to http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts...vice1FF.sbf.gz does not work. Has anybody still got the sfb files I need?

Thanks for your links - Unfortunately I've made my situation worse as I can no longer get RSD to see my phone. The phone lights up (white light on top left) but can't do anything else with it.

Any help/suggestions gratefully appreciated.

My defy had the same situation as you.
1-the battery must be charged
2-launch RSD (http://rsdlite.com/rsd-lite-download/)
3-Remove the battery and put it again still pressing on Power+Vol Up .when you see (white light on top left) plug the cable and RSD will recognize the device as connected on bootloader mode
4-flash the ROM above
This is my modest experience (sorry for my bad english)

Thanks for reply.
White light only on if connected to the PC (no light if connected to wall).. Can't do step 3 as light will only come on when I connect to PC. Tried several combinations but phone no longer connects to RSD. Will leave it charging and try in the morning.

:good: many thanks to all contributors :good:
to summarize (it's grown a bit confusing and some links not updated in the front)

1. Install Framaroot-1.9.3.apk (Gimli worked for me - non rooted stock defy+ MB526 a "231" firmware)
2. Install SndInitDefy_2.3.apk (there from install it to boot, just start the app and follow up)
3. Have the twrp_defy_recovery_2.6.3.0zip and the new firmwares copied to sd-card
4. Reboot and while led is blue press sound "down"
5. in custom-recovery find and install the twrp-defy-recovery.zip (team-win recovery partition)
6. reboot and while blue press sound "down" (again)
7. in twrp install the new (full) twrp.zip and reboot
8. in twrp recovery install resize.zip for recent cm firmwares
9. install recent cm firmware from quarx2k (nightlies work again (2016!))

i do all from linux (Slackware):
i installed adb (by means of sbopkg i think),
in console i run:
adb wait-for-device
then connect the usb, enable usb debug and unknown sources
once prompt is ready i type
adb install <app name>
having the application in current directory
or
adb reboot
if a reboot is needed
had no root access from adb all the way to the new CM installed (so it's not needed, just installed Framaroot)

can i flash it over my DEFY+ bl7 and get it rooted???
That's the idea of flashing this.

..can i copy the given file from your dropbox to my sd card and flash it from my DEFY+ itself....or i have to use my pc for the flashing???
No, you have to flash it through RSD Lite (5.3.1 I'd suggest).

    Here is a how to:

    0. Charge fully your battery before starting to flash!
    1. DL DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP sbf file.
    2. DL firmware and firmware.z01, put them in the same folder and extract firmware - it will create a firmware folder inside your current folder with another SBF file inside.
    3. DL and install Motorola usb drivers, so your phone gets recognized by the PC in bootloader mode.
    4. Install RSD Lite 5.3.1
    5. Get your phone into BL mode - turn it off, press and hold Vol+ and Pwr button. This is what your screen should look like:
    37164d1306666863-motorola-defy-flashen-bootloader-screen.png

    6. Start RSD Lite as Administrator and connct your phone to PC
    7. Press the "..." button in RSD lite and select the DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP file. Hit start, sit back and wait.
    8. DO NOT TOUCH, TURN OFF, UNPLUG your phone untill the flash process is complete or you can permanently brick your phone!
    9. Repeat steps 7 and 8, but this time select the second sbf file that was exctracted from the firmware zip's in the firmware folder.
    10. After flashing is done, turn off the phone, unplug it from the PC, press and hold Vol- and Pwr buttons. At the yellow exclamation mark with an android press simultaneously Vol+ and Vol-
    11. Wipe data/factory reset.

Reboot and enjoy your newly rooted BL7 Defy+ (and don't forget to send me a beer :D:D:D)

    hello and thank you,
1/ wipe: wipe meaning what exactly? factory reset from within phone or what?

    2/ flash: flash how?

    1. Shut down the phone>Press the button Volume Down and keep it pressed>Press the buton Power On>A Yelow Triangle with an Android will appear>Pres both Volume buttons>A menu will appears>Navigate up/down with the Volume buttons and Accept with Power buttons> sellect Whipe Data and Factory Reset and then Whipe cache>Select Reboot from menu and press imediately the Volume UP buton>the phone will enter in Bootloader Mode (is ready for flash process)>Connect it to PC

    2. The Flashing proces is done on PC with the phone connected. You must install RDS Lite and Motorola USB Drivers (after installing drivers restart the PC.
Run installed RDS Lite as Administrator (if you use Windows Vista or 7). Click on [ … ] Button and select your .SBF file and click Open.
Boot your phone into Bootloader Mode (as I said at point 1.).
Now connect your Defy to your PC (if is not already connected)
The START button on RSD Lite should be available now, click and wait.

Don't disconnect until RDS Lite will show PASS.
