u meant, that after flash cf-root using odin, it will automaticly convert file to ext4??
Cf-root provides ext4 support.
You need to manually convert.
Read the first post.
Thanks a lot for kpn version! Works fine
Just one little question. There's no background image in CWM ("E: Missing bitman icon_clockwork (Code -1)"). How to add it? Is it possible to do that with Root Explorer?
This is not a problem, only my aesthetic wish
You cannot...
@ganesh
Add the icon image in res/images

Installing a new rom - This is the way I do it.
I really don't know about other's. But when I am moving to a new rom, I always follow these steps and have never had issues.
Once all the above are done and you have ensured that the phone is functioning normally, go for the mods.
- Read the concerned ROM post and if you dont understand ask for installation procedures.
- Take backup of all the apps to external sd card. I prefer titanium backup.
- Powerdown phone and Remove the external sd card.
- Do a factory reset and reboot.
- Start ODIN and fill in the required tabs as per requirement.
- Go to Download mode on the phone and connect the phone to pc and ensure that ID:COM shows Yellow.
- Flash the firmware and wait until the phone reboots and the odin shows green color.Now you can remove the usb cable.
- Once rebooted, do a factory reset again.
- From recovery clear Cache and reboot.
How to convert to Ext4
- First make a Nandroid Backup via CWM.
- Download the Ext4 convertor script here.
- Copy it to the root of the External Sd Card of the Phone.
- Go to Recovery.
- Flash the Ext4 Script. (Pl. Do not reboot the phone after this)
- Restore the Nandroid backup immediately.
- Reboot and enjoy Ext4.
Enjoy
@ganesh
For ext4 take the three modules from my cf-root, open them with an hex editor and search for 2.6.35.7..... then change the part after CL to match with your kernel version.... Good luck!
