I've got mms working, but when I try to send a pic I took with my camera, messages requests su permission, then doesn't send? Does anyone else experience this?

Sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk

First and foremost, great work on an Alpha Rom =)

+1 here. Cannot send MMS. The APN settings did work however.

[FIXED]

I was running CM7-alpha10 previously and did a nandroid backup before flashing this. went well, but I tried to use appextractor to restore sms from the nandroid to this rom. it said it worked but only paused very briefly. now, every time I open messaging, it says "unfortunately messaging has stopped". can't send/receive. is there anything I can do to fix this besides re-flashing and/or wipe/flash?

I already tried clearing cache, force stop, reboot, disable, enable, etc. I think the sms data is corrupted and it is trying to read from it but I don't know how to fix it.

edit: I fixed it. I just used es file explorer with root permission and navigate to where texts are stored: /data/data/com.android.providers/telephony/mmssms.db and deleted it and created new blank version with a touch command. reboot and it's good as new now.

Hey guys... What's the best app out there that gives u good quality pics for contacts when syncing with facebook, something as good as facebook for HTC sense... I tried syncmypix but its not as good.... And is there a way to get facebook for HTC sense on AOSP roms or a hybrid rom like this one?

ROM is smoothest ICS version out currently, thanks!

Two questions...
1)I put the 0% compression script into the build.prop but pictures still come out compressed (e.g ~1.50MB vs 3.0+MB non compressed), am I missing anything?
"ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100"
"ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=8000000"
2) Is CPU1 online in this ROM by default? If not, how can I enable it?

Keep it up!

Not trying to keep up any controversy on my end, I did some tweaking on my end to find out that turning on the second core doesn't help with the smoothness at all.

It might help if I did not add the line in the build.prop for the UI to be handled by the GPU, but it doesn't help at all. THis is what I did:

In System tuner pro, I disabled the OC Deamon (this was done based upon RM stating the OC Deamon issues as well as my own experience with it and not liking how it handled activating the second core upon unlock). Then, after the various conversations regarding turning the second core on and active, I disabled the second core.

I rebooted the phone and basically waited an hour (I had some household stuff to do so I let the phone sit after rebooting it). Finally, made sure the second core was offline (it was) and then used my phone like normal (music, web browsing, a call, and some texts).

No hit to the smoothness of the rom that I was experiencing when I had the second core active. So I can admit being wrong. But I would stick with the various build.prop tweaks I made unless someone can outright prove they don't help at all.

Used to happen to me. I just deny it and the message goes through anyway. Not sure why most apps, after having done anything camera related, request SU permissions. Just deny and the picture will post anyway.

No one is trying to outright prove anything. All my tweaks come from someone experimenting and figuring out what works for my particular software installations. So, by all means keep on doing what you are doing and don't take anything personal. This is about the improvement of our experience and you are a part of that. Thanks!

Didn't work. Message just doesn't appear.

2. You can use system tuner pro to turn on cpu1 but the chipset isn't designed for both cpu's to run at the same time so you want see a big performance jump.

I also had the fast battery drain, was losing a full charge in 5 hours, did some experimenting and found a popular battery widget I was using was drinking it dry. After changing the widget, now over 12 hours of heavy use and still 65% left, start with Widgets and work from there, remember some may not be ICS friendly!!

Please don't exaggerate things like ladies do... 12 hrs of heavy use and u still on.65%? Are you using 5000 mAh battery?

See attached image...This is called heavy use and i m down to 0% with my Anker battery... after 50% i turned on power saver but couldn't survive 7 hrs...

'Heavy' is subjective. I think 4+ hours of screen time is heavy use. I can get that easily with this ROM, rather impressed.

12 hrs with his heavy use and only lost 35%... if in 7 hrs i loose full charge then he has 4 times better battery than mine... That makes his battery Mugen power 8000mAh... Or maybe he attached his car battery...lol..:D
lol...it sure seems like it. like maybe the power of my car's battery (btw i just got a new one 370z!) wouldnt even do that

Virtuous Inquisition is a an ICS (4.0.3) Senseless ROM, meaning essentially all Sense components have been removed in favor of their AOSP counterparts. Everything except the camera app has been replaced. Any work, such as mods or fixes, you would like to contribute would be gladly accepted. The project has one goal, to provide a ROM which is as close-to-AOSP-ICS as possible.

    • Based off the HTC 3.32.401.5 *release* base.

    • Sense has effectively been removed. Some components may be coming back (such as the camera and music player), as they are better than their AOSP counterparts. I'll provide an option for purists who want AOSP-only-no-matter-what.

    • Remaining HTC framework beautifully themed to match ICS by shnizlon.

    • Stock kernel, not overclocked.

    • Pre-rooted with the latest version of Superuser and modified ramdisk to allow adb remount, mock locations, etc.

    • IO optimizations including the use of ext4 with writeback journaling for all mounts and larger read-ahead buffer for improved sdcard performance.

    • Automated battery calibration. Just plug your phone in after a wipe and charge it to full (preferably overnight), then let our script do the rest.

    • Over the air updates via ROM Manager.

    VI 4.0.2 Goodies by Socali

This post will kept updated with Fixes / Patches / Notes for VI 4.0.2 by Socali

    =====

Important Kernel Files Reset for VI 4.0.2 by Socali

SebastianFM Kernel v1.4.1, which is included with VI 4.0.2, comes with Sebastian's own thermald.
This thermald includes, in my opinion, extremely high temps settings. The problem is that those settings are hard-coded and are not read from the thermald.conf file.
Other kernels are expecting the default thermald and not this custom one, so they are not overwriting it.

I strongly recommend flashing this before flashing any other kernel. Even in-between flashing different kernels, as different kernels might include other files that need to be replaced/removed.
This patch will reset kernel related files that exist in the ROM's partition to the original HTC v3.32 default files.
This does not include an actual kernel - you must flash a kernel after this patch and before rebooting the phone.

Sebastian Kernel v1.30.2 Underclocked to 1.242Mhz for VI 4.0.2 by Socali

(This is the same kernel posted by me before, but in a new package that includes the Kernel Reset Patch, so you can simply download and flash one file.)

This is Sebastian Kernel v1.30.2 hexedited by me to underclock it to 1.242Mhz with a safer (or more conservative) thermald.conf file.
This gives you kernel closest to the original HTC v3.32 one with Sebastian's MultiTouch fix and ZRAM support.
I prefer keeping the CPU clock at 1.2mhz so that the CPU stays stable and cool and doesn't drain the battery as quickly.
I hexedited it instead of recompiling so that I stay as close as possible to Sebastian's build.

Note: This kernel will give you lower benchmark scores (about 5700-5800 AnTuTu score on my phone). This is not a bug, it's a feature..

    Download flashable: kernel-v1.30.2-uc-1.242mhz-socali.zip

AOSP Phone With Mute Fix for VI 4.0.0 by Socali

This is my fix to the AOSP Phone included with VI 4.0.0, that enables the mute button during calls.
This one took a lot of time and research, but I finally got it! :D
